| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well...all I can say to help is write down what you want done and go over it with them ...I learned the hard way that they dont always remember what you say when you bring them in... with written directions - there's no question what you want cut or don't want cut...GOOD LUCK !! I'd love to hear how it goes ! |

| I am a dog groomer and have dealt with new clients that just went to the groomer from hell. Alot of groomers dont really care what you say, or they dont pay attention so in agreement with Red98vette, Write everything down. I really actually appreciate it when people write things down for me. I usually keep that in their records for the next time they come in and check to see if they want the same thing done, if not, the new directions get put in the card along with the others and so on.............. Be very specific of what you want. If you want some hair left on the body, preferably unless you are VERY confident in the groomer, tell them to scissor cut the dogs hair. That way there is less chance of an OOPS shaves strip somewhere on the dog. If the groomer starts asking what number blade you want her/him to use, ask to know how long the hair is supposed to be with whatever blade. If they say 1/4 inch, that is SHORT SHORT SHORT (almost skin) whatever the measurement they say, always assume shorter. If you dont like the dogs haircut when you pick it up, let the groomer know, but don't have the groomer redo it right then. If they aren't willing to settle on either doing the next groom for free or fixing it ina day or 2 then the heck with them. They aren't a good groomer. If you go to a Petco grooming salon, complain to the store manager not the grooming manager. They are very worried about losing customers so they will give you a gree groom. And last but not least, ask the groomer how long they have been grooming. You dont want some one that is relatively new working on a first time groom dog. Newer groomers take longer and the first time groom dogs get nervous faster. Sorry to have babbled, just thought that I would give some tips from my side of the grooming table. Kelly |

| My Yorkie came to me with knots and mattes all in her hair. I asked for the *lion* cut which was extremely cute. She had little bellbottom feet, a close cut body and a big hairy head and ears, I jut love her ears! |
