Yorkie haircuts Can you guys post pics of your baby's haircuts? I want to get Pebbles cut & I'm trying to get ideas - she has floppy ears so if anyone has pics of their floppy-eared baby - they would be appreciated too! Thanks, Kim :aimeeyork |
I would be interested in seeing some pictures of different cuts, too. We are going to the beach next month and taking Lillie. We need to get her hair cut before we go, as she's be hot and sandy and probably need a bath every day. What is the diffence in a puppy cut and a teddy bear cut? |
3 Attachment(s) I do have several from Chanels short cuts last year - On each cut - I wasn't crazy about the expertise of the groomer and had to trim her up a little myself - but I did like the short hair and how cute they look without all the hair - Sorry to post so many - but it's here's a few different looks - She is the yorkie with the long hair in my avatar - and these pics were a little over a year ago - So it WILL grow back ! |
What do you call that cut? I want to be able to tell the groomer something! |
I love the last one - what kind of cut is that? Kim Quote:

Chanel is so cute,,, quite the little model! ;) |
Thank you !!....You're so sweet !! The first cut I called the Sampson the Lion Cut - it was susposed to be a Puppy Cut - that's what I told the groomer - when I picked her up she had this little body and this huge face with hair !! I laughed all the way home - Actually the last pic is my favorite ....It's like a Pixie or Puppy Cut - for YORKIES .... when you go to the groomer I would suggest that you WRITE DOWN what you would like them to do - I learned THAT the hard way ....I write down a master list of what I'd like them to do.....Now I groom them myself... but a great cut is SO CUTE on a little yorke....and when you pick them up they are delerious with happiness and race around like they're little nekked kids ! |
Thanks red98vett! |
Anytime...you're very welcome - I've had 5 groomers so far and found doing her myself takes away the stress but it's also good to use a professional ....then if you decide to try it - you can follow their previous cut lines ....that is if they do a great job and if you find a great groomer - STAY with them ...I've had a hard time finding one I really like in Houston. Good luck and for those who are thinking of getting puppy cuts - I can't wait to see the pics !! |
I've had a hard time so far w/groomers - the last one shaved her almost completely bald! I was SOOOO mad when I picked her up. She has the cottony hair that mats easily. I did a scissor cut on her the last time (I am still a licensed hairdresser though I don't practice anymore) & it looked good for a couple of weeks, but now it sticks out & makes her look kinda fat (cute, but fat) and she's not fat - it's just her hair type. |
skimandfrank I would love to see pictures of your puppy. My Sophie has flop ears too and I am always trying to see what other Yorkies look like with flop ears. :aimeeyork Sophie'smom |

1 Attachment(s) Here is a photo of one of a hair cut I like.. I took a yorkie magazine with me and showed it to the groomer and she cut him like that. His legs are left long hair, body short and face rounded. He has a cotton/wooly coat and this cut is so much easier to take care of. |
Here are some of Lucy on the day of her last hair cut (sorry, not on my home computor so gotta post links!) http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...cat/500/page/1 http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...cat/500/page/1 |
