| In response to the "grudge" thing posted before V's... Are you all implying I posted my information on MY red leg yorkie along with what has happened to ME concerning them as a GRUDGE posting? If I am not able to post my own true experiences without having this kind of reaction...no wonder people don't want to post here like they should be able to. I never had one negative thing to say about the original poster's yorkie. I offered info from my experience as well as my opinions to her about A red leg. I was respectful to her in my post yet as truthful as I could be. She does have a cute yorkie. No doubt about that..think I told her that. Some of you may hold grudge's....it's very obvious. But I don't. I move on and worry with my own affairs. But if I choose to engage in conversation about any paticular subject based on my personal hands-on experiences with dogs, people, or the moon up above, then I should be able to without all your old "grudges" being brought into the mix. I do not name any name's like I have seen many other's do. I do not bring any paticular breeder or person directly into my posts and if I was that kind of person, I would have given you all the names of some of the breeders in NC that I have visited and discussed in the past that are far from reputable. But if I want to share an experience that is my right. It is done all the time on this forum. It's obvious to me who has grudges as it is the same one's over and over who cannot seem to wait to chime in. I am sorry Potter for "causing" your thread to take this direction although it was not intentional on my part. I offered what I knew about red leg yorkies...and my personal experience with them and what other's have suggested to me about them even though I do not have to agree with it and I don't. Good luck to you with your little one. I hope that coat comes in beautifully in the future and I wish you the best. |

| Please let's keep this thread on topic. Potter had a very good question that a lot of us (including me) would like to know more about. I really don't want to close this thread for trivial and/or past "issues" Thank You~ |

| I think I can say with 100% correctness...among all the breeders I know, and that tallies up to dozens, I would be hard pressed to ever find a wire or wool coat in the year 2006. We still see a softer then ideal coat, but the days of wire and wool are long gone. I must live in a hole or something..where are all these incorrect coats coming from???? Your Yorkie looks wiry to me..if he is a pet, it is not important..if he was bought for breeding I would not use him with an incorrect coat..but that is JMO. You just do not breed incorrect to get correct...it will come back to bite you in the butt at some point, always has, always will.. |

| Boy...I have sure learned a lot today and I appreciate everyone who helped me understand how things work here. It is nice to make some friemds with some nice yorkie people. ***Potter~ I know you don't need me to tell you that your yorkie is adorable!! She is as cute as can be and I would have her in a New York minute!! I am not a "yorkie snob". I hope you did not think, as Red98vett implied, that I was trying to hurt your feelings. That is so far from the truth and it makes me sad that she would write that when she doesn't even know me. I simply took the opportunity when I saw the response posts to Butterfly to agree with her and state the reasons why. I still agree with her and Yorkie Rose and that is all that matters to me. I will not cower and run away from those who would make this forum uncomfortable. I have noticed from my short experience here that they are the same ones over and over and I will simply do as others have advised they do and ignore the negativity. It is not worth getting upset over. |

| Since so many seem interested in discussing the breeding of redlegs (which is an interesting debate to me), and since the OP has REPEATEDLY stated that they are not interested in breeding their dog, but just had a question about its coat... ....maybe the debate could be moved to the appropriate (Breeding) forum. To the original poster...I don't know if your thread will be able to get back on track at this point...maybe it would help to just start a new one! All I know (minimal!) about redlegs I've learned on this forum, but in my opinion, your dog doesn't look like the other pics of red legs that I've seen. Is that him in your avatar? SUCH a cute face! Sorry I can't help you...maybe more pictures from other angles would help, too!

"So many" on this forum are just concerned with the preservence of our breed. I wish I could honestly anwser Potter's question about her baby's coat...but being I have no clue about the lineage, history ect...I really can't. All I can do is tell her that I hope his coat comes in. When some see a paticular "phrase" such as "red leg" or "flop ear" ect ect...it tends to draw the discussion into more depth. It doesn't mean anyone meant any harm. I feel it aids in the long run. Giving lots of info on a "paticular" subject. I happen to appreciate that. Potter, I'm happy to offer you some advice on a wiry coat... Try to bathe frequently. If you want something to grow...water it! Use a good protein conditioner. Pet silk makes many products that may help you. I wouldn't say go out and buy the most expensive out there as far as vellus, isle of dogs, plush puppy or pnderosa at this time being your baby is a pup and you are still waiting to see how the coat evolves. Use a silk serum finisher along with a good shampoo and cond. You may even want to consider an oral supplement or change in diet for coat and skin. Omega three fatty acid. Best wishes to you always. | Thanks everyone for all the information and input! Your input and infomation are all appreciated I think at the end of the day, everyone on the yorkie forum just wants the best for our babies Oh well, red legged or not really doesn't matter as my baby but it would certainly be nice to know. Like all yorkie parents, you can't wait to see what your child will grow up to be like..that is certainly to be the case for me He is not for breeding. I really have no plan to show or breed him. I only have plans to bring him out shopping, walks, etc And even if his coat will not grow long, it really doesn't matter because I still love him and looking from a positive point of view, it means less trip to the groomers-->just kidding Best wishes to everyone too!
