Oh yes they would! In a breed where it's easy to loose color a true red leg is an asset but it has to be bred properly.

Some of those breeders need a red leg in their breeding program. I know several show people who have bred them and the red leg did not produce red leg puppies but did help bring the dark blue color and tan back in. One of the breeders listed above is far from being considered "best breeder" by most other show breeders/exhibitors.

Ahh....smidge - remember - this isn't a podium - the person asking the original question stated this is NOT ABOUT breeding an asked that her question be answered - why keep pushing ? and just because I do know who you are - I think it's really rude to copy and paste someones posts to use for your debates - why not just link it - that way those who are interested can go see it there.

Its okay with the off track. From the posted pictures, I think most probably my baby is not a red legged. However, I did not know that the word "red legged" can trigger off so many debates and is sensitive in the Yorkie breeding world. And no..I am not looking for any particular coat type. I love my baby and I just want to know what his coat type is. I guess in a few months time, I would know his coat type I really can't wait

Thank you about the compliment on his coat I think the main factor is his diet. He eats Innova Puppy Dry and is really thriving on it. Sometimes I mix in Merricks Grammy's Pot Pie but he doesn't like it and Nutro dry food as well. I also give him fruits-bananas, apples mainly, cheese, Nutro Puppy Drumstick treats; vegetables-bits of carrot, broccoli. Also, gentle brushing every day helps. I use Tearless Burgham Pro Plus shampoo for Senior Dogs (made in Canada)-usually senior dogs shampoo are much milder and doesn't irritate skin as much (this I learnt from experience although my previous dogs were not Yorkies) and tiny bit of human conditioner-the one I use..L'Oreal.I also feed him a teaspoon of pure honey every night (not those in the market mixed with sugar). I am thinking of Missing Link but the store near my house do not sell it and have not heard of it. He does have a good appetite and I think that helps a lot. He is picky with his dry food and usually likes Innova more when it is mixed with some lukewarm water but is not picky with fruits, veggies. Hopefully, he will continue to thrive on it. If not, I might switch him to homecooked food as I have a well balanced home cook recipe.

LOL ...Potter - didn't see your post just now - we must have posted at the same time - That's the way to see things - I think your yorkie is young and you'll see lots of changes....all the best to you. Sounds like You're the reason for the shiny coat !

ps...Pantene is also something you can try - but if the hair is going to grow - it will - if not - oh well !! As long as you love him that's what counts.

I see. I was in a dazed at first when I saw the reply..like I did something wrong but as the thread goes on, I now understand it is not me Maybe the person should start a thread with the title as Grudge and go from there and save someone else a heart attack
