| EARS - again!!!! I am one of those people who wants their little Yorkie's ears up and as erect as can be. To me, these perky little ears are what make a Yorkie look like a Yorkie. BUT - like a lot of you - My little guy has trouble from time to time keeping his up and running. When he was a pup (8 wks old) -- his ears went straight up to heaven. And, then like most young Yorkies, they went up and down for a while - but finally decided to stay up. HOWEVER - lately his ears have completely flopped. (He's a year old). I mean they are down down down. I think he's darling and cute this way -but he definitely does not look like a Yorkie to me. So - I really gave his ears a haircut - and as they did once before with a haircut, they are moving back up again. So - there must really be some truth to some Yorkie's hair weighing their ears down. I'm going to keep his ears trimmed and see what his ears do. Time will tell! Carol Jean |

| When I got Venus at 8 weeks old, looked to me like the breeder must have cut the hair on her ears, at least once. Dunno if this makes a differnce or not when they are little. |

| I agree that the hair on the ears weighs them down. Baxter has very thick, heavy hair and when his ears need a trim, the tips flop down. When I finally do trim them, they stand erect again.
