If it is a kitten , there will be no problems with adjusting . I have 4 Siamese cats and never had problems with them around my Yorkies . | |

I have no experience with female cats, we have a neutered male though. He was 2 years old when we got our Yorkie girl and they both got along very well from day one.

My daughter has a male cat she can't keep. He's beautiful, has been fixed and declawed. Maybe your husband would like someone like him. His name is Bennigan, He's grey, He's an adult and is used to being around dogs. Send me an email if interested and I'll give you her number.

I bought my male as a kitten. He is a himalayan persian and he loves my 7 dogs! This is him with Stormi when I brought him home as a pup.

By cats are female and one dog is female and the other is male, presently. They all get along just fine. I think it has a lot to do with how you introduce they from the beginning. When I first got each one of my cats I used a baby gait to separate them from the dogs and existing cats and keep them in a bathroom. That way when the newbie was ready they could look at the others without feeling threatened. They could also leave the room and come back as they wished. All it takes is a look from the cats and the dogs will run for the hills. Both dogs got several love taps (cats are declawed) from the cats initially.
