| Mutts??? I always say that Biddy as a Yorkie even though she is 1/2 Jack Russell (she looks WAY more yorkie than Jack - you would never know that she was 1/2 if you saw her). I feel like I am always in denial of he Jack Russell heritage!! I am ashamed to say that I am embarressed to tell people she is a mutt (I hate the word mutt by the way!!!) I know you guys love all dogs, but I'm always afraid you'll think less of her!! I feel like I'm going to get blacklisted from YT!!!! I know I am just being paranoid, but Biddy is such a princess I would hate it if anyone thought less of her! I just wanted get this off my chest!!! Are there any other "mutts" out there???

| I know there's a lot or prejudice in the world but there are very few "enlightened" and intelligent people who would consider a mutt or mixed breed dog to be any less because he/she is not "purebred". Although all of my dogs are purebreds it is only because I was always looking for a specific breed. It is not that I ever planned to show my dogs in conformation shows or breed them. I have shown in obedience in the past and would love to get into agility. I think the purebred status is definitely overrated and can be used to discriminate and suggest "quality" but, as with people, dogs are sometimes better (not used to be offensive) when they are a mix of certain genes. There are people who believe that some purebreds have led to temperament problems in certain breeds. So, bottomline...do not feel uncomfortable about the fact that you own a "mutt". Mutt is a great four letter word on this forum!! |

| Thanks - this helps!! Believe me - I wouldn't trade her in for any champion. This is my issue, not hers! This does make me feel better though

| Mix breeds...aka mutts NO Worries! My baby Rex is half Yorkie n half maltese. Mix breeds or 'mutts'can sometimes be the best because you can get the best out of both breeds! |

YT Addict | I don't think you should be worried. This is your baby and you love her. Especially now a days non-pure breds are really popular. Yorkapoos...goldapoos...there are so many out there, I can't think of them all... Love her for her, and we (YT) will befriend you for you. And Biddy, as well. If any one blacklists you then that is their problem and not yours.

| so.... so..dont be ashjamed..let it shine and when people ask you ur pup's breed, say he a freak of nature LOL. Be proud of what he is. When people ask me this question is pick up my baby (mighty big....he is 5 months and he is 7.5 lbs) and say he is a mutt. they get a little "eww" look on their face at that, but then i put Rex's face up close to them and when he looks thm in the eye, the cant resist petting orr holding him,...they all leave saying 'Thats the cutest puppy ever!!!!!!!" |

| don't feel like that. me personally all my life when i see puppies i have always picked out the "different" looking pup, i think they are unique and should be loved just the same. don't get offended by the word, but we also have a "mutt" his name is Cracker aka Uncle Cracker or Cracker Jack and we wouldn't trade him for the world. we "saved" him from a cold ice storm one year and he's been with us ever since (took mom a while to get use to that, lol). to me their all they same purebreed, mixbreed they all want one thing, love! |

| It really doesn't matter. All it matters is that you love her. |

| Ohhhh, please don't feel that you are ANY less welcome. When I first started coming here, I only had my mix, Sandy, who has the Cairn terrier body with a Yorkie head I felt MORE than welcome -- just as you are! We love ALL our babies, regardless of if there is a little mix in there - she's just as much of a princess as the rest!!

| There is no way you will ever be blacklisted from yorkietalk for having a "mutt"!! I think everyone here loves all dogs an can appreciate all the differences. We just happen to love yorkies a little more! As for the "mutt" issue, it seems to me that mutts are actually quite fashionable nowadays. Doesn't Jessica Simpson have a mix breed. I can't remember, maybe a malti-poo? Celebrate your dog, no matter what their pure-ness status is!

| Thank you guys so much! I feel guilty for feeling funny about it, and believe me I LOVE this dog (and my other puppy Tucker - he is a purebred ). I know this is all that should matter, but I guess it's only human to care what other people think of you (and your dog!). Believe me, as far as Biddy is concerned, she is NO mutt!! She is not lacking ANY self-esteem!!! Thanks again

| I have a "mutt" His name is Oreo and my first pup! (well i got him before Ginger) he's a Yorkie/Pomeranian Mix. His face takes after the Yorkie but his coat and body takes after the Pomeranian. But his temperament is very unique and thats why i love him so much! |
