| Welcome to YT! Congrats on your baby! I feed my gracie nutro natural choice puppy it is a dry food it depends on the age of your baby for dry or wet... the ears usually stand on their own if you keep the hair on the ears short but it doesnt matter if they end up not its your preference.... a harness is definately better a collar is not good and cause injure their necks! The perfect size crate would be one they could just lay down turn around etc not too big! I got a bell and put it on Gracie's harness so you can hear them b.c they are so tiny! Oh and it is fine to put your baby is a doggy bag they have cute ones! What are you planning on naming your baby? Good luck!!!

| Hi Jacky, Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Shows how responsible you are by asking questions. And very good intentions you have for your yorkie. Nothing wrong with purses, we all have them. Though mainstream media sees them (yorkies) as fashion accessories it's obsious we all love and care for our babies. Ears up or down is totally up to you and you're dog, they're gorgeous either way, that's a promise, I like up myself. Dog food, Dry is best for their teeth. Premium only (that's the best of the best). There is a list of different brands that are really good. Someone should come along with it, I don't I have it sorry. Find the search button, it'll be your new best friend for info. It's up top, on a bar. Definitely a harness when walking coillars can crush their tiny trachaes. And don't forget, buy some really cute outfits |

| WElcome to YT and have fun with your baby. Most of your questions were already answered. You also need 2 bowls for her food and water, a few toys - but be careful in choosing them. She needs some semi-hard bones to chew on and perhaps a cotton rope. A small ball and maybe a squekie. WOW ! 15 and starting collage, you must be a very smart cookie !

| I feed mine dry dog food bc it helps keep the tartar down. We feed Purina One. I've done tons comparisons (you can find all the label info on line) and this dog food seemed as good as any. Ears on a Yorkie are suppose to stand up; however, some don't. If you are just planning on using the dog as a pet and not breeding or showing it doesn't matter if they are up or down. If you are planning on breeding or showing eventually I would get one with up ears. A harness is suppose to be better than a collar (the main reason, I think, is that you won't put preasure on there wind pipes, which can be a problem for some Yorkies). My dogs have too long of hair to even try to get a harness arranged in so mine go naked. When we do go some where I put a collar with ID tags on it, but my dogs are really good about not pulling on the leash so I don't worry about putting to much preasure on their wind pipes. The size of crate that you get is depending on the Yorkie you get and what you are using the crate for. I'm home all day with mine so the only time they are in a crate is when we are traveling so I don't have a very big one. But if you plan on leaving your puppy in it all day you will want a bigger one. Also Yorkies come in a wide varity of sizes. We have a 2.5 lb Yorkie and a 4.5lb one that don't take up a lot of room, but I've seen Yorkies advertised over 9 lb. which is twice the size of mine so they would need twice the room. My dogs go with me to most places; however, if you take yours to the mall in a purse make sure that it doesn't over heat and try to stay away from the food court out of respect for the other people there. Yorkie essentials. 1. Lots of love 2. shampoo and conditioner 3. great vet 4. good comb 5. ouch less latex bands and bows 6. crate 7. doggy bed (even if you think it will sleep with you, it will want some place that is just his) 8. food 9. bowls 10. piddle pads (if you plan on taking your dog with you to college it will need to be trained how to go on pads bc it will be inside all day while your at class) 11. Yorkie book Best of luck

| well, 1st i was wondering what food is best? wet/dry? and what brand? --------------------------------------------------------------------- I feed innova small bites, both my yorkies do really well on it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd, Does it really matter if your yorkie's ears are up or down? --------------------------------------------------------------------- That is a matter of choice, which you prefer. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3rd, Whats better collar or harness? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Harness is better --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4th, What the perfect size crate? --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are crate training, you only want it big enough for them to stand up and turn around in.Any bigger than that and they might have accidents in the crate. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 5th, whats it a list of YORKIE ESSENTIALS? or things that are a must for a new yorkie owner. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Food of course, food and water dishes, someone help me here. The tube of stuff incase their sugar level drops. Can't think of the name.
