| Yorkie's have to be the smartest!! I taught Darla to sit very easily when she was about 3 months old but really havent worked with her much and now she is 6 months. I have seen sooo many videos of yorkie's doing tricks and such and decided TODAY I am going to give it a whirl!! I broke up some Science Diet treats real small for a reward and sat Darla and Reece down. First I taught Darla down and put my finger down on the ground and BOOM she was down and looking at me like...NEXT...WHATEVER...TOO EASY!! So then I thought..hmmm...ROLLOVER!! And we went from down to rolling over...well wouldnt you know it she picked that up after two or three times and was rolling over all day long!! My hubby walked in the living room tonight with a snack for himself and she layed down hoping to get a nibble from him...didnt happen....so she rolled over!!!!! Without being asked!! It was sooooooooooo funny!! I wish I could video tape it like the other ones I have seen!! With Reece being only 10 weeks I thought I would just try getting him to sit...WELL...then I couldnt even get him to stand back up!! He just sat there waiting for another nibble!! I would actually have to physically stand him and tell him to sit!! I have never had much luck training a dog in the past and I have had many spaniels!! Is it a yorkie thing or what????? I think they can read my mind sometimes!! Darla goes with me for the car ride to pick up the kids after school and like 5 mins before its time to go...she is sitting on the edge of the couch waiting for me to put her collar on...like hello??? Can she tell time?? lol...its crazy how smart these little ones are!! Dawn |

| I know what you mean. Dixie's sooo smart. She loves training and when the clicker and treat bag came out she gets sooo excited! For a while she went through her whole repertoire of tricks as soon as the bag came out as if to say "look how cute I am - TREAT ME!" Dougal's smart too - but not as smart as Dixie. Congrats on training your baby. Darla sounds as if she's like a MENSA yorkie! LOL! For Reece try throwing the treat on the floor away from him - that way he's gotta get up to get his treat!

| Hehehe MENSA...sounds pretty close hehehe...well maybe not THAT smart but boy oh boy she is eager to please. It sure makes it fun to train when they are eager. I bought a clicker because it was .99cents but have no clue how to use it properly...guess I will have to do some research. Dawn |

| I'm starting to think yorkies are pretty darn smart too. I love watching the videos of tricks they can do and am repeatedly amazed! Lola won the most prizes out of her dog training class, I was so proud of her.

| My boy knows only how to sit so far... But everyday when I'm getting ready to go to work, he goes and sits inside his blue carrier waiting for me to finish, zip him up and go! Too funny... Also, when it's time to go home, he stops playing with the kids I take care of and goes to his carrier as soon as he sees me taking my purse and car keys! It's even funnier because I know he's not loving the carrier too much LOL. But he knows he's gotta do what he's gotta do...

| I've had a lot of dogs and some of them were pretty smart. But none of them were as smart as Demi. She has it all -- brains, looks, and personality. |

| It's funny that you say that about your yorkie. As soon as my yorkie sees me put my shoes on, she is in her patiently awiating her snack before we leave.............and talk about spoiled. I can't even walk down the hallway without her right beside me. She is so darn cute, but then again aren't they all? |
