| ![]() back when I had my maltepoo the vet would give her a shot, I think it was once a year or twice a yr (cant remember for sure since we didnt keep him all that long)for heart worms which i liked better than giving the medicine. But my vet now said they outlawed that as some dogs had died from it. Has anyone ever just got heartworm shots? I was hoping i could get that for my dogs rather than giving them the medicine each month. Now i'm glad they wont if its bad.

| ![]() My vet is very reasonable too. When I took both to the vet for their checkup, shots, stool sample, ear cleaner & nails cut ( this is included in the OV)it cost me $135.00. They give me a discount if I take both at the same time. Timmy got sick on me a few weeks after I brought him home and they took him right in put him on IV, gave me prescription food and stool sample and it cost me $60.00. I used to take them to another place where it was a little cheaper but the service sucked. They wouldn't take Timmy in when he got sick so thats when I took him to my vet now and thats when they immediatly put him on IV. I'm paying just a tad bit more but its well worth it! |

| ![]() My vet is great! He watches my pocketbook more than his. I'm always getting discounts for one reason or another. He makes sure that I know what they are going to do before they do it. He always makes sure I okay it first. I told him the other day that I have complete confidence in him and that he does not need to okay things with me first. If it needs to be done then do it. I trust him to do the right thing with my pets.
