| I Hate When This Happens.... So this guy (customer) comes in our office today. I went to check on something for him & when I came back, he pointed to the picture of Sadie on my desk. Him-"Is that your dog?" Me -(thinking...duh) "Yes" Him-"A Yorkie" Me-"Yes" Him-"I got a friend that sells them. They're expensive. Me-"Yeah, sometimes. But they're sweet." Him-"Oh, I love em, but I can't afford one." Why do people have to make us feel bad because we've got expensive dogs???? Why do they have to say anything at all if it can't be nice? I didn't even buy Sadie...my parents gave her to me as a gift. But I shouldn't have to explain that to everyone I see. I get these comments all the time...does anyone else? And how do you handle them? A coworker of mine told me I should have told him that I was rich & just do this (my job) for fun. HAHA!

| I know how you feel! I used to get it all the time! I always say, "Well it depends on what you consider expensive, plus you can't put a price tag on love". and I leave it at that. No one is going to make me feel bad about my furbabes. All furbabes no matter the breed are priceless in my eyes! Seriously though, I have pictures of my family, that if lost, i would pay any amounts to retrieve. But it only cost $8.00 dollars to devolpe them in the first place. But to me they are priceless and worth any amount. It's the same with pets, they are worth any amount.

| I get that alot when I used to live in my apt. complex. It gets to be very annoying, especially by the same person over and over again. He keep asking me is that a yorkie. I replied "yes" Then he told me that, thats expensive dog. I acted dump and said "I didnt know that". He asked me how much did you pay for it. I told him dont know, got it for free. I didnt want to tell him how much I paid cus I'm scare he might try to steal it . Everytime he saw me walking my dogs he keep on asking the same old questions. He labeled me as the expensive dog girl. |

| Tell people to -- save their pennies, which turn in to $1's which eventually turn into Yorkies |

| well people dont make me feel bad at all about mine. Lots of things I've seen other people get that I cant afford and I dont try to make them feel bad about it. Matter of fact, I bet I have less tied up in my 2 yorkies than some people have tied up in some other breed. I mean as far as the price of the puppies. I am glad I have mine and I've seen other people say they want one so bad, yet not long after (they cant afford one, their words), I see they just up and decided to take a 5 day vacation just for the fun of it. I know who I'm talking about. Plus one says her daughter is just dying for one like Maggie but she cant afford it. Well the whole family gets anything they want pretty much. I know for a fact they will spend more on one outfit for each of their family , (like 5 people) that the total of that cost more than it would to buy one yorkie. If they could buy little less expensive stuff and not have to have all the big name brands in everything. Sometimes you have to give up a little to get something if you want it bad enough.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Yeah i get scared when people see Peeka in the front yard with us i have a lot of people stop and they ask how much he was i get a little nervous thinking they would steal him to. I hate when people ask that it's really none of their business anyway. I haven't taken Peeka out much cause he hasn't had all his shots but when i have i tell ya the people get dumber and dumber. Ya know we could write a book about stupid comments and split the profits and get us all new babies and then write a book about how we used stupid people to make a profit lol.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Sure do Yep. I get the "expensive" comment ALL the time, "Oh, he is soo cute, I bet he was very expensive....I could never afford one." All I do is smile and say, "Yep, he was. And he was also worth every penny. " End of story I never bother explaining anything to anyone, lol...whats the point

| Yeah I have been told by my sister in law that they are are waste of money, don't get me wrong she likes loves my babies, but thinks the cost of them is ridiculous. I told her i will do what i want with my money,as they are worth every penny. I am only 20 and i have worked real hard to get all 5 of my babies, although Rocky was given to me for free. I would have told that man, that he could try looking in shelters to see if a yorkie needs adopting |

| There have been a couple people who know I'm getting a yorkie ask me how much he cost. I just said "is there really a pricetag on love?" After that, they don't say anything else about it. But, I'm starting to get annoyed because we just bought a new car and I've had a couple people say "gee, you've got a new car and you're getting an expensive dog, did you win the lottery or something?" I think it's rude for people to ask how much you paid for something, and I'm getting a little ticked off at the comments. My hubby and I both work and never ask anyone for anything, so what's the problem, ya know? |
