[Sadie's Mom]

So this guy (customer) comes in our office today. I went to check on something for him & when I came back, he pointed to the picture of Sadie on my desk.

Him-"Is that your dog?"
Me -(thinking...duh) "Yes"
Him-"A Yorkie"
Me-"Yes"
Him-"I got a friend that sells them. They're expensive.
Me-"Yeah, sometimes. But they're sweet."
Him-"Oh, I love em, but I can't afford one."

Why do people have to make us feel bad because we've got expensive dogs???? Why do they have to say anything at all if it can't be nice? I didn't even buy Sadie...my parents gave her to me as a gift. But I shouldn't have to explain that to everyone I see. I get these comments all the time...does anyone else? And how do you handle them? A coworker of mine told me I should have told him that I was rich & just do this (my job) for fun. HAHA!
