Glad to hear you were able to track her down...what an outrageous story. Your hubby is SO good for doing all this. I would feel the same way-very upset and hard to swallow what happened. I wish you luck in getting your baby back. If I were in your situation, I'd drive to Santa Barabara and knock on the darn girl's door demanding my baby back...it belongs to you...you can't just keep someone's dog because 'you've always wanted a yorkie'. that's crazy. We've had many many dogs come up to our driveway in the past, we'd take them in, post up photos and knock on nearby doors in hopes of finding their owners whom I'm assuming are at a complete lost by the missing dog. Shame on the girl.

She's been told the Police are involved . The Police said that anything over $400.00 is considered GRAND Theft. The report is going to be kept opened untill we have her back in our arms, taken her to the Vet and have her checked out.

Let them split a Penny! I would not give them anymore than that for all that they put you through! The nerve to not even find the owner in my opinion changes everything. It is more like theft, not that they did you any great favor here.

I don't know about other states.... But where I'm at in Southern California.... You can hardly get Animal Control to respond when you have an aggressive Stray in your yard let along a sweet little lost dog... and this is after the call to the police who pass you on to the local Animal Control..... I know... I was trapped in my home for 9 hours once! With no response from local authorities.. But the local news came out! Followed by the Animal Control... funny how that worked...

I wish that the Police still responded to lost Puppy's and Kittens stuck in trees.... Its only when one falls into a well or a drainage pipe and an entire town raises hell that the local authorities and the media hops on it... but its all about ratings... not the animal....

Sure, he should have tried to find an owner... Maybe his parents said... no! your not bringing another dog in her... put it outside where you found it! I got that speech from my dad once... When I found a Dalmatian puppy... So I gave it to Tony, my friend down the street.. she and her mom kept her till the posters went up... but was it wrong of me to give the dog away?? Should I have called the police? I don't think so...

I don't think you are wrong, but you and your friends probably had the sense and understanding that someone may come look for this dog and if so, it would need to be returned. There was nothing wrong with the first boy giving it to the second boy since first boy already had too many dogs. But second boy should have kept the dog until a good amount of time went by and they were sure no one was looking for it. They could have called local vets and such to say they found it. They could of posted found posters and if no one responded after a time, then give it to the stupid sister.

I can hardly stand the waiting and it is not my dog!!! If it were my dog I would have driven to her house the minute I found out where she was and camped out on her doorstep until she gave me my dog.

What kind of person does that to someones beloved pet. She ought to have her head examined.

I hope you have your Josie home safe and sound before bedtime tonight. If not I would drive to her house and sit out front until I got my dog.

That woman has NO RIGHT to demand anything. If she was half a human being that puppy would be in your arms right now. I would do a reverse lookup on that telephone number and get her name and address and show up at her door with the police demanding she give me my baby. Please keep us posted, I have been thinking about poor Josie all day and all I want is for her to be brought home to mommy where she is safe.
