Jeff Dane Grrrrrrrr! OK....I was just browsing yorkie sites and came across Jeff Dane! O MY GOD!!! I can't believe what he is selling his puppies for...I sent him an e-mail...not a very nice one either...maybe I shouldn't have?? O well,,,,,it's gone now. here it is... Your kidding me right!? $7500.00 for a yorkie!! I know yorkies are not a cheap breed but,,,,,are you serious??!! First of all there is NO SUCH THING as a "teacup"....the breed standard tells you that! And...if you are intentionally breeding for a really small dog....THAT IS JUST WRONG!! I think 5-7 lbs is small already..All you are doing is breeding for money selling these poor little dogs for outrageous $$$! How can you consciously do this knowing that these poor babies probably will not be healthy...or be susceptible to sicknesses and breaking bones....I feel sorry for you! |
I would have sent the email too. Wow 7500! That is insane. |

$7,500 :tongue036 When I was searching for a puppy, I came across so many sites where Jeff Dane was mentioned ... and not in a good way at all. He's all about money. |

pheeeew! I didn't know what kind of a response I was going to get...I think I might have gotten a little out of control with my e-mail...but, it really irritates me to see people doing this! These poor little animals don't ask to be born and they end up paying the ultimate price. You can (most of the time) tell a good breeder that breeds for healthy pups. I know it is difficult to tell a good breeder over the internet...But when you read things like this you KNOW they don't care about the animal...it is the almighty $$$ at the animals expense. I wish there were something that could be done about people like this, unfortunately there are sooo many bogus inhumane people out there that I feel this will go on forever..I just feel bad for the animals.. Hey Brenda - he's been known to respond to people's emails. You may hear from him - he and his 'people' used to browse forums when people talked about him and they would actually post and get REALLY nasty. He's a greedy greedy broker/breeder - I really don't know what to call him. He's had yorkies for 10 grand on his site...this isn't the first. There is a member here that did get a yorkie from him who is fine and she's posted her experience - which for her, was a good one.. but too many other people weren't as lucky as she was ...which is where his bad reputation comes from. People are just getting RIPPED OFF By him and his prices. I hate to say this... but most of his yorkies don't even look healthy - they look sad and scared and they aren't the best representation of the breed by far. How he can get away with what he charges is nuts. |

7500 who has that kind of money? and up to 10,000 WOW...it is so sad that ppl out there would buy from such a horrible person just because they don't know better. I feel really bad for those furbabies. You would hope ppl out there would to there research b4 laying down that kind of cash and see him for the horrible person that he is |
I just posted a huge thing about a puppy that I bought from his brother Steve Dane. I just spent over 1000 to keep that pup alive and it ended up having blood in his lungs and dying. I am trying to get my money back, but we will see how that goes. :-( |
How in the hell can he call a Yorkie a teacup after it's only friggin 10 minutes old? He's nuts i tell you. He can kiss my a$$ before i spend 7500 on a friggin dog. :) :thumbup: |
when i was looking for a yorkie i saw his site, at that time i thought that was the going price, i was thinking hmm maybe i cant get one..thats a good used car price for petes sake. then kept looking and reading forums and saw he was not a good breeder....thats just nuts charging that...but people are buying them and spending that money thinking they are getting a healthy puppy....most of the time i bet they arent healthy...that is very sad, i feel bad for the puppies :( |

When I would look for yorkie puppies I would come upon some horror stories about Jeff Dane's site. Hoobly among one of them. It's just horrible that he's allowed to continue to get away with it. |
Why can't someone like him be stopped? |
He needs to reported to the BBB by the people who do business with him and have bad experiences. |

I also have to add this (and no I'm NOT condoning him or his site): He does have some pups at very reasonable prices. Let's face it, many people look for price first when buying a pup. When people see his prices they probably get all excited. Now, I didn't buy Baby cuz she was cheap ($2300), but she was a petstore furbaby. If I saw Jeff's website before getting Baby I might have gotten a pup from him too. :eek: :eek: :eek: God, I don't know what's worse...getting a pup in a petstore or from Jeff Dane!! Oh, the thought! :eek: |
3 Attachment(s) You know it makes me sick how blank and scared their eyes look. These puppies are just a size to him. They are not living animals... My puppies are a mixed breed and the difference in the 2 (This was not a planned litter and No , I am not tooting my own horn, just shows what proper care and socialization does A loved puppy shows it in its eyes) I can tell you every habit, quirk, good trait bad trait that my puppy has. These guys are thrown up next to a campbells can and then thrown back into a dark corner...So very very sad I love each of htese puppies and I will cry when they leave. Anyone can take a picture by a soup can. it takes a real person to love the puppy afterwards |
We seem to have 2 threads going on the same guy. I would have never thought to check with the BBB, when looking for a breeder. Here is just something to think to think about. Puppy mills and bad breeders are at times big stories in the media. What if people started sending e-mails to USA Today, CNN & 20/20. Share the stories that have been on the forum and from anyone that you know. That maybe the only way to stop this one. I am so truly sorry for the most recent victims of that breeder. |
