God job i would have sent an e-mail like that too!

I feel sorry for those who pay a normal price for a normal puppy and get scammed.

But the people that pay that kind of money are looking for a teeny puppy, otherwise they would pay a normal price for a normal dog.

They are supporting and encouraging Jeff Dane to stay in business selling his sickly little pfuppies for ridiculous prices.

It is not the same as someone going into a pet store and walking out with a puppy. Those people are not looking for a tiny tiny dog, they just are looking for a pet and don't have a clue as to puppy muills etc. Or maybe they did know, but the puppy just stole their heart and they could not leave fit.

But the people who buy from Jeff Dane are searching the internet, and they can see that there are normal dogs at normal prices. Why then do they choose Jeff Dane?

Has anyone ever asked them why they overlooked all the other ads and chose Jeff Danes dogs?

I have sympathy for them losing their dog, but not for them losing their money.

And I did not say I have no empathy or compassion.

It's amazing how someone can write something in black and white on here and it gets so distorted. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. Don't read anything else into it.

I bought a yorkie from him. Thanks god she is healthy but I got a letter from the AKC saying that her dad" James Little boy Rufus" or something like that was not sired from an AKC. They did DNA on him and now my dog is not AKC. Im sure if I had intended to breed her I would be furious.. but I love her no matter what. We just call her the red headed step child now.. Im not sure what to do, and if there are others out there with the same problem. So be careful.

You are not being accurate, I said that The way that some talk sounds like the man should just be taken back outside and shot! I never claimed anyone said exactly that!

I never said that either! I said I dont know Jeff Dane, I have certainly heard many stories about him all over the net though. He seems to sell more dogs than most breeders and is very public so I would think he would have more sick dogs and it would be made more public than other breeders.


I dont understand when you say I am not a real member. I thought I was?:confused: I have been reading this site for a long time and had been scared as many are to post. I think what really got me was the lady wanting to send animal planet and reporters to the mans house because she did not agree with him. And what he charges for his dogs has nothing to do with how he cares for them.

Anyway,I will not say anything else or post again, I will go back to just reading the posts that are intelligent and informative and ignore the rest.

You would think that that would be logical, but the problem is his lack of taking responsibility for the sick dogs he sells. Reputable and responsible breeders guarantee their puppies health and stop breeding lines with health defects. He continues to breed and sell sick dogs and takes no responsibility for the suffering, heartaches and finananical costs he causes many. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I am sure he has been reported enough tha he has been inspected over and over.

I am not in anyway condoning Jeff Dane or the likes of him. And i am not pointing my finger at anyone in particular.

But

it seems to me that if you buy a tiny dog and it gets hypoglycemia the next day, and you take it to the vet, and it is treated for hypoglycemia and is doing fine, and the following day it exibits the same symptoms and it again has hypoglycemia, that maybe the buyer was not educated as to this condition in yorkies, and did not watch it closely enough.

I am not stating that they were deliberately negligent, but their lack of expeience with tiny dogs may have been the cause of death.

This is not the first post where the dog dies within a couple of days. Do you realize that in order to ship a dog they have to have a vet check and a health certificate.

Now if it falls sick within a couple of months and they run up thousands in vet bills. That is a different story.

I have to agree with this because I had searched for months and did lots of research on the breed and came across Jeff Dane's site. I immediately noticed that these dogs didn't look healthy. I also noticed the ridiculous prices, and I lost interest in his site real quick. As I was doing research to learn about the breed and to try to find a puppy, I came across MANY sites where Jeff Dane was mentioned...and not in a nice way. So, I feel that alot of people who are buying from him are either coming across his site without doing any other research and seeing the "tinies" and wanting one, or they are deliberately searching for a "teacup" without learning anything else about the yorkie breed. It really doesn't take that much work to find out bad things about the guy so I don't get it.

Too true!! I did not do my homework when I purchased my first yorkie. I am not proud of it, but thats the truth. I guess I got lucky. The breeder I got Baby from educated me. When she dropped Baby off she taught us all how to hold her and feed her. She gave me nutrical and told me at what times to give it to her. She called weekly to check on her. She taught me how to care for her and what symptoms to look for on low blood sugar. She was great and I know now she went above and beyond because she really cares for the yorkies she sells. She only has a litter a year though!! Not like this guy!!

I am glad to see this thread. I have been doing some more research. I was planning on getting a lil baby from him. not anymore. Thank you all.

Jeff Dane Puppies/ Puppy Mill
 

I bought a puppy from the Jeff Dane puppy mill out of Texas, at the time I was not aware of his puppy abuse. The puppy was shipped to me and when it arrived, needless to say it was hairless on all four legs, chest, stomach, anal area, and lost a lot of hair on the back. He took the picture and posted it before the hair loss took place with the puppy. I have talked to some local people from that area right after I purchased the puppy, they said he has a history of his dogs having the mange, unfortunately that's what happened to my poor innocent puppy. I contacted him about the poor health condition about the puppy and he told me to ship it back at my expense. He also told me there was no health problems, my vet told me it has a hernia. I would never ship that poor puppy back to him if he paid me a million dollars.

what the heck!

My baby is great now. It takes someone like myself who really loves these poor little babies to make them a wonderful life, unlike where she came from "The Dane Puppy Mill". It took a lot of TLC and vitamins to get the hair coming back in good. My baby is now in a great loving home to stay forever and I love so much.

I have checked his site for the past 2 years , since becomming a Yorkie owner/lover.... it all started when I dog sat for a new neighbor and they had a yorkie..... I was hooked by the time the 2 weeks ( their vacation ) was over... I was on a hunt.... and of course ran across his site.... it didn't take long to realize something is not right...... He will have one for 10,000. and the very next one will weigh the same and be the same age and it is 2200.00 ... I knew obviously I could not afford that and continued my hunt and found a very good puppy that was a " tiny " for a whole lot less....
I live fairly close to Jeffs puppymill but would not and could not consider a purchase from him.,,

My Jeff Dane story
 

I bought a shorkie from Jeff about a year and a half ago. When my puppy arrived he had a quarter sized bump sticking out about 1/2 inch on his stomach that we found out was an umbilical hernia. The day we got the dog, before we found out what it was, we called Jeff immediately to tell him about the bump and his response was "Duh, he's a little boy!" Like we were THAT STUPID that we don't know what the dog's anatomy looks like. We emailed him to tell him what it was after we took him to the vet and we never got a response, surprise surprise. My dog was also infeceted with coccidia and he obviously didn't care about that either because after the sale was final he fell off the face of the earth and we could never get a hold of him again. I'm sure he would talk to us again if we wanted to buy another dog though. We feel he should have offered to compensate us for the surgery that my dog needed to correct his defect. The vet was like "Um WHERE did you get this dog from?" because he wasn't exactly in the best shape. I have to say though that everything turned out for the best because I couldn't love my dog more and he is pretty much the cutest thing in the entire world. Jeff is one rude dude though!

I felt compelled to post this, even though its an old thread. Jeff Dane is a total d!ckhole! He angers me in ways I never thought I could be. I knew of his from the 4x4 and monster truck days, and he has always been a jack ass. Most people did the monster truck thing because they enjoyed it, and could make money at it in its heyday, but he is only motivated by the dollar signs! Just my two cents. Sorry to pour salt into an open wound, but I was just compelled to respond.

I do not of this guy, and glad he is not living here in California. I am wondering though, that when you buy a puppy from him , that you also get a car too????? It is pure insanity to spend that much , and worse, a sick dog. That is criminal . I am surprised nobody has gonne after him and sued the pants off of him :questione
