BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | swollowed water I gave Lillie a bath about 1 1/2 hours ago and she hates her baths and was squirming all around trying her best to get away from me, well I think she may have swollowed water cause she keeps making these noises like she has something in her throat and it wont come out, do you think she is ok? She's breathing and walking around normal, but she keeps trying to get something up. |

| I don't know. You might try giving her a treat to see if it clears whatever seems to be bothering her throat.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | she seems to be ok now, she hasent done it for about 15 min, so I think she just got some water down the wrong pipe, I dont know what to do about her bath time, she absolutly hates it and it's the worst 15 min of her life everytime she she has a bath, she kicks and wiggles and does anything and everything to get out of my arms, so I dont know how to calm her down for her baths. |

| I have the same problem with Wally. He turns into a different puppy when it's bath time. His daddy, Petey was the same way. I ended up putting his collar and leash on, tie that to the faucet to hold him still, and then I can use both hands to give the bath. He eventually came to like the bath, and can't wait until it's his turn. I hope Wally learns to like it too. Good luck with your baby. Kim

| I had the same issue with Roxy. What I started doing was having my daughter bathe her while I held her securely. It wasn't necessarily the answer initially but it helped calm her enough that she began to understand that it was less scary to struggle. It wasn't easy to have 4 hands working on a 1.8 # pup but I didn't know what else to do. Things are getting better since Roxy learned to sit and hope things will get better with a little more "stay" training. |

| Im sure you already do this, but try to talk to her, and even sing to her. I always put a towel in the drier and wrap Cali up in it and she likes to burrow in it cause its nice and warm. Save one SPECIAL treat (I use peanut butter) only for bath time and give it to her when she's all done! Good luck

| I don't know of to many dogs that like baths.....only a golden I use to have, Lexie hates them, Peanut hides under the bed and Max runs like crazy to get away from the water.... But they like to go swimming in the pool, I just don't get it...

| I use the kitchen sink to bathe Sissy along with the sprayer. It works much easier as I can direct the flow of water rather than trying to get her under the faucet. We have a double sink, so she puts her paws on the center and actually holds really still till I'm done. The only part she still doesn't like is when her face gets rinsed. She does inhale some water during the process and the does exactly what you are describing with Lillie. If you're not using a sprayer and you have one, try it and see if it is a little better. If you're already doing it this way, just keep reassuring her and hopefully she will eventually calm down. Good luck!

| Sometimes it is good to start slowly by introducing the 'bath procedure' in little by little steps over a few days. First they go in the sink without water and get some treats. Then with a little water to get their feet wet, then the whole body and so on. That makes it less scary. But I'm sure your little one will get used to it over time. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was vert squirmy in the sink so I took her in the bathtub and I stick my feet in while I wash her and she is much better. I hold her body under the faucet as I don't have a sprayer and then use a cup to get the rest off of her.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | well I'm looking to upgrade my utility room sink so it has the sprayer, I do bathe her in the kitchen but it dont have the sprayer and it's just a single sink, dont ask me why they put in a single sink, I have a dishwasher so thats the only reason I can think of why they did it. She is doing much better and has stopped making them noises, I was just so worried that she got to much water. Thanks all |
