| ![]() Hi Everyone- I'm going to be getting my new baby in a few weeks and I've got lots of questions!!! One is about the crate I need to buy- how big should I get it and does anyone have any crate recommendations?? Also, I was planning on training him to go in a litter box w/ pee pads. At night - do I let him sleep in his crate w/ the door open so he can go out to his litter box if he needs to or do I need to put the pee pads in his crate? Will he start to cry to let me know when he needs to go to the bathroom? I wanted to buy him another bed to sleep in and put in my room but didn't know if I should just keep him in his crate all night long w/ the door open? Can I bring the crate in my room at night??? Help!! This is going to be my first puppy!! ![]() |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() What worked real well for me, and this was the first time out of 5 dogs that I crate trained, was I bought a dog playpen which is like a bay playpen but has the front zips open. I but her bedding on one side and her wee wee pad on the other. She trained within weeks this way. Now when I go out she runs in there and I zip it up and she is nice and safe. She sleeps in there alot during the day. She just goes in and snuggles up. When I am home it is open and she hops in there whenever she needs to use the pad. We have had maybe 3 accidents in almost 1 year using this method. The only downside is I have not ben able to get her to go outside she prefers using the pads. Some people do not agree with putting a pad in their crate but it worked great for us! Good luck!

| ![]() I love the gold coloured cages. They are open, there is enough room and it looks better.
