| Do you have insurance on your furbaby ? Just wondering how many of us have insurance on our furbabies. Well, Reese was diagnosed with Legg Calve Perthes Disease yesterday and total is going to run us over $1500 when all is said and done.....sooooo, I looked into insurance and they said that when Reese is healed from her surgery I can put insurance on her for $27.00 a month. I figure since Reese is only going to be 3 1/2 lbs max in weight and she is sooo small she would be high risk so insurance might be a good idea . So I was just wondering if anyone else has insurance on their furbabies......... |

| I haven't purchased it yet. I had already done some of the puppy shots when I looked into it. I checked into VIP and during the first year, they pay some of the puppy shots and either blood work, spaying or teeth cleaning yearly. All of these procedures were paid at a % of what my vet's office charges. So, I did the math and figured that if I purchased the premium insurance (about $350 a year), I would still end up paying quite a bit in vet charges and the total amount along with the insurance premiums was considerably higher than just paying for the services. So, I opted to not get the insurance during her first year. I will most likely pick up as a preventative soon.

| I just got coverage for Baby and for Oscar with PetCare (canadian). Baby isn't even home yet, and she's covered. I got a pretty extensive plan, so I'm paying quite a bit each month for the two of them, but I'd rather do that then have something happen to BOTH of them and find myself unable to afford their care (especially when I'm on my own). Let's just say, I'm paying a lot more than 30 bucks a month... but I feel better knowing that I'm covered if anything happens.

| I've just sign up with VPI yesterday, But now I have to wait for 3 to 4 weeks until all the paper work is finished, and hopefully It'll be active at the end of august. But I'll tell everyone to get it, just in case of major accidents, so You'll not be stuck with HUGE vet bill.

| Don't have insurance yet, but with 3 dogs, over the last two years, our vet bills have exceeded $2,000. We did have some major stuff happen that hopefully won't repeat, but I'm really thinking of getting some kind of insurance for Zoe, since she is so small & young. Insurance may be cheaper than pay as you go. If anyone knows of a really good pet insurance company, please let us all in on it. |

| I do not have insurance on our babies. But, if I had to do over again. I would of purchased it for at least the first year I had them. Kali had an emergency illness 2 weeks ago that cost $510.00. She has now had all of her shots for the year. The only thing left is the spaying for this year. |

| Snickers now has insurance. I had enrolled in a trial insurance just before he broke his leg. Unfortunately, although I called the insurance company the day after his injury & told them to go ahead with the years membership, I was only able to get the max trial coverage for that incident. But, at least I will get reimbursed for $500.00 of the $2540 that all his appointments cost me. Of course, I'll only get the $500 if I ever find the time to get off of YT & fill out the paper work!! |

| Oh, one other thing. Make sure you read the details on what is or is not covered. The company I went with has 4 different plans....2 include some wellness but none of them included some issues such as liver shunts. |

| My first yorkie, Bentley, passed away from pulmonary edema at 4 months old and the vet bills added up quickly. I was planning on getting the insurance on him, but before I could do it, he got sick. I was blessed with another furbaby and I DID get the insurance on him. I went with PetCare Insurance on Spencer. They have many different levels to choose from....starting at $9.99 a month. I definitely recommend it!

| I don't have a yorkie yet, but I do think I will be getting insurance when I get one. From what I've seen, the prices look pretty affordable, and it's well worth it if he/she gets sick or hurt (which I hope never happens!) |
