With the food. Baby has been trying to gobble up Juicys puppy food. I separate them with baby gates. The dry food is out at all times for them both. Baby has free run of the house and Juicy is gated to the wash room, pantry, hall way area. Baby can't get to her area and Juicy can't get to babys. I know how bad you must feel. Baby begs and begs for the puppy food. My only answer is the separate areas if possible!! Good Luck!!

We always have to separate Chachi and Jewels when we give them their moist food or Chachi would eat Jewels. I just free feed the hard.

Maybe im just a nervous mommy all over again. Hell leave the moist food alone usually. I watch it carefully but the dry food he gobbels up. I wouldnt mind it so much but Masons food is way to big for Mia.. Shes lost 3 oz. since Thursday.She is pooping ok though and eats ok. .Is that normal? I dont remember Mason doing that but Jeff swears he did too. Maybe im just being too protective

I wouldnt worry about 3 oz but if she continues to lose weight I would take her to the vet. My two didnt lose any weight.

It appears that he prefers the taste of her food to his. If you put the dry food in both dishes would he over eat and eat them both? Is there a problem with him eating the puppy food? Is he over weight? You said they are free eating right?

If you are concerned about her getting his food, then I would suggest that his food be kept in a different area that she cannot get to. Camillek made a good point to consider.

An Emergency C-Section, Unwanted pregnancy etc....are a lot more scarier that getting Mason neutered...
Sorry, but please don't use the fly swatter..he isn't a nasty, pesky bug!!

I will get him neutured eventually. I think thats been covered and im sorry but squirting the dog in the face like i have been told with water isnt much better. I dont beat him with the fly swatter either.

I have popped him ONCE on the butt for being mean to her......it has calmed him down so I think Its done what it's suppose to. Thanks for your input though!

I always used to leave Max's food and water down until we got Abbie. She would eat her food and Max's--she was being a little piggy

so we had to separate them during feeding time. I put Abbie in the ex-pen and gave her a bunch of toys to occupy her so Max had some free time to eat (he's a slow eater) After about 10 months she stopped trying to eat all of his food and drink his water and I am able to leave their food and water down all day. They are now able to just eat whenever they are hungry throughout the day.

Oh, you are quite welcome..My concern is always with the dog involved. Also, if no one has said this...Hitting a dog for any reason EVER with anything is wrong..that's just me...Also, to squirting water is not harmful, unless it's below 60 degree's.. I'm sorry, that's how I see it..One swat with a fly swatter can turn into abuse quickly..I also believe in gateway drugs...

If he is old enough you don't want him eating the puppy food then he is old enough to be neutered.....If he is not old enough to neuter than there is no need to worry about them eating the same puppy food. The longer you wait the more problems you are going to have. Many people have given you great advice and still you want to go your own way, so why bother to ask. You are heading for a accident, you are mean to hit your dog with anything and next time roll the news paper up and hit yourself in the head, or fly swatter. Sorry but you should never hit any dog , or children, there is always a better way. It is a least smart of you to ask people here as many of them have great advice to give, but it doesn't help if you are not planning to listen.

well thanks for the load of crap..OH i mean advice...dont sit there and say im an abuser when i have only swatted him 1 friggin time so dont judge me. I also want to point out that i am a mother of two and yes god forbid I spank my children but i only do it IF i absolutely have to..I bent NOBODY else on here spanks their children huh? SOme ppl on here must come from the same crop. If your not going to give advice or atleast be pleasent then PLEASE dont associate yourself with the stupid no good ppl like me that believes ina alittle discipline. Im sure squirting water i n their face is a much better way!!

You have kids.....if so, i bet their real handfuls!!
