Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Help It's To Hot!!! It is 104 degrees here which is very hot for us and the pups don't want to go out to potty. I have no shade in my yard so they stay in my shadow all the time and if they don't do that they run for the stairs to go back in! i've tried letting the water run outside to help cool them off and even sprayed them a few times but they really don't like the water sometimes.they are having quite a few accidents in the house which they haddn't before. Also i've noticed they don't want to eat during they day either peeka will eat at night and then he acts like he's on crack running around my house barking and chasing everything my poor cats! I don't know if anyone else has this problem? I don't know what to do!!

| I sympathize with you. My dogs will go outside when it's hot, but sure don't want to stay out very long. They may not like water - but keep them damp when they are outside. Dogs suffer heatstroke just like people do. I know out at the lake whether my dogs like it or not, they just have to get in and go swimming once in a while to stay cool. I wouldn't worry abut their eating during this heat. No one eats much when it's hot (try something cool for them - like ice cream). It should cool down before long. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| Sometimes I let Kona lick an ice cube. That tends to help cool her off a bit and I don't have to worry about all of the sugars or dyes in popsicle sticks. |

| Last summer we were camping and the owners had a water mist sprinkler on their porch. It was heavenly! Maybe combined with a shade thingy (I love the word!) it might help. |

| I agree - it is too darn hot!!!! Today in MI it got to 94 degrees with brilliant sunshine, which just made it feel hotter. To top it off, I held a yoga/pilates day in my backyard - which does not have ANY shade - from 11-2!!!! There was so much sweat flying from the people who came, I could have filled a swimming pool!!! So far, the heat hasn't affected Sissy's appetite. That is a good thing since she is so picky anyway. When she goes outside to potty - she really takes care of business fast to get back inside the air conditioning. It is supposed to get even hotter here over the next couple days until around Wednesday when it is supposed to cool down the the upper 80s with thunderstorms!!

| It is very hot here too. Shylah is running around out side with her tongue hanging out. I have to make her come in to get some water. She finally ate around 2:30 today. We have air conditioning in the house, it helps, but they are mostly sleeping today.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Our neighbor down the road has a kennel. I asked her how to keep Baby Blessing cool when we go out, she said the best way to cool a dog down is to wet there feet and also their chest to cool down their body temperature. We have Baby Blessing trained to using the pee pads so I haven't been taking her out during the day, also now that all this hot weather is upon us, we don't go to the store or shopping till the evening when it is cooler. It is a scorcher here today. |

| I agree with Katy, I'm in Phoenix and it is HOT here. Toby goes out early in the morning and again in the evening after the sun goes down. Not much shade around here. He uses the pee pads durning the day. If he does go out during the day it is out and back in real quick. Toby's mom |
