| Old enough to leave out of crate????? At what age did you start to leave your baby out of the crate when you were gone??? Maybe not the full run of the house, but just a room or 2??? Bella is almost 7 mo's and I have been doing a trial, leaving her out for an hour or two at a time, and she's been doing great. Mostly just sleeps when I'm gone...the longest has been 3 hrs. I live in an apartment, so I close off the bathroom and the bedroom door, so she has the hallway, livingroom/dining and kitchen area...I also leave her crate open in case she wants to go in...any thoughts? is this too soon? I'm just wondering when I'll be able to leave her out while I am at work all day...I would come home at lunch to check on her like I do now, just giving her more freedom Thanks!

| Reese is 9 months old and just last week we let her have run of the house while we are gone.....she uses puppy pads, so potty time isn't an issue, but if we are gone for more than a few hours we put her in the pen - I am a nervous nelly when it comes to my furbaby - I get scared she may be really bored and get into something.........but for a couple hrs. I trust her |

| I think it is so wonderful for those of you who can let the little ones have free run of the house while you are gone. I am such a worry wart!! I wouldn't have to worry about their potty habits, I'm just so so afraid they might get bored or who knows what and chew on something dangerous like electrical cords or something. I keep mine in the crate if I'm gone (I'm home most of the time) mostly for my piece of mind. The older I get the worse I get....LOL

| With my dog,(my Lab) he is 4 years old and I still put him in his crate when I leave the house to go anywhere. It has been like that from day one, so he is used to it. All I have to say is "crate" and he goes right in. If I'm gone for more than a few hours, which is rare, I usually take him with me. I do this because he is always up on my couches and is big enough to cruise the countertops, and get into mischief.
