| Update on my Yorkie/Cattle Dog pregnancy!! Well!! Despite all of the negative feedback...My girl delivered 3 healthy pups with no complications!! She ended up going into labor 8 hrs before her vet appt!! She and the pups are doing fine!! Huge thanks to all those who chose not to tell me what a bad dog owner I was but tried to be helpful..I thought this was that kind of site, had I known my question would result in such a massacre on my character I really would have thought twice about posting. Easy people!! Don't be so quick to judge without knowing all the facts!! And defintely don't take up motivational speaking!! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi...I'm really happy for your female that she had no complications - that's great to know. you have to remember - we are here for the DOGS first - The replies you received were honest... maybe some could have been more tactful - but it's only because people just love dogs so much ...it's hard to read things like that. I had a neighbor dog that was attacked and made pregnant by a larger dog - and I'll never forget it - the screaming I heard was AWFUL and actually - there are quite a few people here that would be GREAT at motivational speaking |

Secondly, I agree with Villette: Everyone here is very passionate about this breed and the overall well being of these animals. You can't blame everyone here for being upset and concerned for your girl. Afterall, you were and that is why you posted, correct? You knew this was not the an ideal situation when you brought it up, why are you upset that others viewed it that way as well. Try to look at it this way. Nothing that was said to you should be taken personally. Similar situations have been discussed here and the feedback was the same, so just know that you were not 'singled out.' Try not to look at the the passion everyone here has as something negative.

Welcome to YT. I noticed that no one bothered to do that in your last post. I did not see your first post when you were asking for help. I just now went back and read it. I hope you stick around and give the site a chance. After you have been here for a while, you will begin to know and understand everyone better. And get a better understanding of the dynamics of this site. I started out under fire also, but have now forgotten who gave the negative replies. You just suck it up and move. Some are very judgemental about everything, others try to be very understanding. But all of us are dog lovers and have the best interest of the dogs in our hearts. We all hate the thought of one having to suffer and/or die due to irresponsible parenting. They look at it like letting your 13 year old daughter go out on a date with an older man. We do not know the circumstances by which she was impregnated, maybe you had no clue that she was in heat. Whatever, the damage had already been done, too late to worry about how or why. You asked for help and should not have been judged, but given advice on what to do next, as some did. I'm glad to hear that everything went OK and that Mama and babies are doing well. I hope you are able to find good homes for all of them, and hopefully you learned from this experience and both the parents will now be spay/neutered.

| When you post on a PUBLIC forum about your LITTLE yorkie getting pregnant by a bigger breed dog. So if you thought you were going to come on a yorkie-lovers site and talking about your irresponsibilities to your little girl, and expect a pat on the back for that, well sorry, that is not how it goes. You are not the only person who has been extremely irresponsible with your small dog, and other people have gotten the same negative feedback. We are very passionate about the health of not only our own dogs but other peoples pets in general. Too many people come on here and cry "accident" when it comes to their yorkies getting pregnant, when really they should have either spayed their female or kept her away from male dogs as you should have. I'm glad your female and her puppies are well.

| OMG, I didn't read your first post either. I have been sorta on sabbatical from the forums. You must have been petrified when she went into labor knowing the puppies could have been huge. I am assuming your vet was standing by to lend a hand and do a c-section and spay if necessary..Will she have enough milk to feed the puppies or are they too large for her to feed? Please read up (if you have not done so already) on how to prevent/deal with eclampsia as a little mom can die very quickly once it sets in. Okay, now, I will say welcome to YT and betcha after a while you will see posts that you will want to respond to as passionately as yours.. I would LOVE to see the pics of the babies...the pics of the Yorkies being raised by a Pug mom always puts a smile on my face so maybe your babies will do the same thing.. |

| I am really glad all the puppies were delivered safely. I missed the first post, but went back and found it. I think most of us do realize that accidents happen, preventable or otherwise. I think they were more upset that you hadn't gone to the vet earlier. Thank you for posting an update. It really does help to know that termination isn't always the right answer. |

| Glad all is well Welcome to YT!!! There is a lot of great information here and a lot of people who can offer up constructive advise. Please stick around! Thank you for an update. I hope the cynic on the last thread has time to read this! I think this post brings up a couple of thing. First, we have been encourage to read other forums other than general.. I guess this is why so many people missed your first post. Secondly, I am really surprised at how many people who post on this site have never had to live with the consequences of a bad choice or decision. I guess they don't ever need understanding or mercy. I will hope that when life deals them this card that someone may be understanding and supportive and offer constructive advise instead of being angry and critical. For those who offered constructive advise without understanding, I applaud you!! You will encourage people to continue to post and be educated about raising our furbabies.
