Thank you for an update. I hope the cynic on the last thread has time to read this!

I think this post brings up a couple of thing. First, we have been encourage to read other forums other than general.. I guess this is why so many people missed your first post. Secondly, I am really surprised at how many people who post on this site have never had to live with the consequences of a bad choice or decision. I guess they don't ever need understanding or mercy. I will hope that when life deals them this card that someone may be understanding and supportive and offer constructive advise instead of being angry and critical. For those who offered constructive advise without understanding, I applaud you!! You will encourage people to continue to post and be educated about raising our furbabies.

You are not the only person who has been extremely irresponsible with your small dog, and other people have gotten the same negative feedback. We are very passionate about the health of not only our own dogs but other peoples pets in general. Too many people come on here and cry "accident" when it comes to their yorkies getting pregnant, when really they should have either spayed their female or kept her away from male dogs as you should have. I'm glad your female and her puppies are well.
I did see your first post and told you to go to the vet asap. If you felt that people ripped you apart it's because they know a heck of a lot about Yorkies on this site. That's why they are here. You are very lucky that you didn't have any complications. But please watch momma carefully, because we have heard oh too many stories about Yorkies giving birth, the birth was okay, but shortly after the momma passed. We don't want that to happen in your case.
Now, I do have to say that I don't like when people are not tactful and/or may seem harsh in their posts, but it does happen. But, I do have to agree with Nobella on this one (not that she's being harsh, just truthful...and sometimes the truth hurts). Sorry...

I was reading that at first thinking, Nicole you quoted me by accident, but then it made sense. I really was not trying to be harsh but I've lost count of how many people get their small yorkies pregnant on "Accident" with a larger mix or larger yorkie. Just because she's delivered doesn't mean her and the pups are out of the woods. But I do hope they are healthy. But this is the kind of thing that drags the breed down.

Oh, I know you weren't! That's why I agreed with you!

This is a very good point! How are you supplementing mom's diet now that she is nursing? We have had several problems told of here due to problems from lack of or not enough supplementation for the mom. Sometimes even when supplements WERE given. Make sure you know the warning signs.

oh I'm SO glad to hear she had a good labour and pregnancy.
My grandma's dog was attacked when she was in heat by a larger dog
and she almost died because the puppies were so big
that they had died in her stomach
and they were poisoning her!

People were just concerned for the safety of YOUR dog
(and they know how much it would hurt you if she ended up being hurt)

I"m glad that everything turned out ok for your yorkie girl, the pups and YOU. Sometimes people forget that they shouldnt type what they wouldn't say in person, esspecially since inflection can't be "heard" in type. I agree, post some pics.

Congrats!!! I wanna see pics!!!

I just now read your first post, and dont even listen to the people insulting you and critizing you. I mean accidents happen, even with people they happen, and it can happen to them too. I think that some people think if you dont watch your baby 24/7 and smother it, then your a bad dog owner....but you just gotta tune them out.

Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda.... give the girl a break... we are not all perfect, nor are we all quite as judgemental as some on here. I have only posted myself a couple of times because the first time I gave someone the same advice my vet gave me.... I was jumped on...but had to speak up here.

You know I find it funny how ppl can sit and judge and what not but I have found that it can happen to ANYBODY. regardless how much you watch an animal and so forth. I just hope that some of the VERY NEGATIVE ppl on here doesnt end up in the same situation and than come on here and want sympathy...there is a difference between truthful input and and just rude comments because they feel they can because of a stupid screen. I do wish you congrats and I didnt reply to your first thread but saw some comments and they were very rude. Dont let that discourage you from coming on this site. Some ppl just set out to be witches. guess it makes them feel good!!
