| Poops In His Crate Hi I've had a 4 month year old yorkie boy named Jordan for about a month now. Starting a couple days ago he has been pooping in the crate. He doesn't even cry in the middle of the night to go. I just have to wake up to the smell of poop Does anyone know the best way to stop this? Please Help...Thanks |

| We had this same problem with Dori when she was about that age. What we did is made sure she didn't have any solid food within 2 hours of bedtime, took her to the pottypad and outside to have a bowel movement before bedtime, (if she would) and she eventually stopped. She had two crates, one smaller and the medium size. T he medium size was the one she would poop in. So, we put her back in the smaller for the nights. I think these changes helped, she stopped in about 3 nights after. It is definately annoying and smelly Is your baby laying in it or going in a spot in the corner of the crate?

| He's only doing it in the corner or the side of his small crate. Hopefully your advice will work. Thank you |

| Your puppy has too much room in his crate. They only need enough room to turn around and lay down in. It sounds mean, but if they have too much room then they'll make a bathroom on one side and lay on the other side. Add some boxes or books or tupperware, something, in the crate to fill up the room until they only have a small space. With Reuger I had to keep making the space smaller and smaller until finally he quit going in the crate. Don't add any blankets or food or water. Make sure that as soon as they let you know that they need to go that you take them out. Don't make them wait. Reuger was about 9 months old when I finally started letting him have more space. By then he was in a wire kennel with a divider so I started moving the divider back a little at a time. In a little while he had use of the whole kennel and I had no accidents.
