Your puppy has too much room in his crate. They only need enough room to turn around and lay down in. It sounds mean, but if they have too much room then they'll make a bathroom on one side and lay on the other side.

Add some boxes or books or tupperware, something, in the crate to fill up the room until they only have a small space. With Reuger I had to keep making the space smaller and smaller until finally he quit going in the crate. Don't add any blankets or food or water. Make sure that as soon as they let you know that they need to go that you take them out. Don't make them wait.

Reuger was about 9 months old when I finally started letting him have more space. By then he was in a wire kennel with a divider so I started moving the divider back a little at a time. In a little while he had use of the whole kennel and I had no accidents.
