| Flea Treatment I understand that dogs can get all kinds of problems if they swallow a flea. Do you continually treat them so this does not happen, or is it unsafe for the dog? Thanks. Kate |

| I give heartguard to my girls once a month on instructions from my vet. I'm pretty sure that it is fine to do so.

| I just took Sydnee to the groomers for the first time and let them put a flea dip on her, the Vet said it was okay and then he gave me heartguard for her monthly. Just one pill. It protects them from heartworms that they can get from fleas. He also will be giving me something for her monthly, and I can't remember the name of it for outside to protect for fleas. Now I just have a flea collar on her till she is five months old.

| I use revolution, its against fleas,heartworm,earmites..etc.Its a very complete product and works in a very similar way as a pill,it works from the inside. You apply it to the skin on the back of the neck where its taken into the bloodstream, once there, its effective for a month. It cant be washed or brushed out,its easy to use and its very safe for your dog. |

| ok stupid question here. I thought heartworm came from misqutos, at least that was what I have been told by the vet. I never heard of it being transmitted by fleas. Is that true? Luckily it isnt something I have to worry to much about, we havnt had heartworm in our area yet!!!

| Flea control I have my dogs on Revolution at this time - it prevents fleas, heartworms, ear mites and some types of worms. We camp a lot in the summer so I think Revolution provides more over all protection for my babies. However, my vet did tell me that for flea and tick prevention that Frontline is the better product. It protects against a larger variety of fleas/ticks. Then you just need to use an additonal pill for the heartworm prevention. I guess it just depends on what your needs are... |

| My bad hey I keep telling you guys I have sometimers. Well anyway I knew it was some kind of worm, and since the worms aren't available for chatting. Since Sydnee's vet keeps her free of them, the wormhole that I call a brain pulled up at least part of the conversation right with him.
