| Yorkies riding in cars What is the safest way to have your yorkie in the car? I have a seat belt that attaches to her harness, but I don't see how that is safe. I don't like using it so I find myself carting her crate around. The seat belt will keep her from going through the windshield, but it looks like it could damage her ribs or choke her. Any suggestions?

| A crate would definitely be the safest way I would think, but I use the My Buddy Lookout for Jazzie since she really enjoys looking out the window. I do worry about the harness being the only means of holding her in too. I know they have special padded harness specially made for cars but they all seem so big for a Yorkie. If any one has suggestions or solutions I'd love to know too.

| Princess has a puppy car seat. It has a harness that keeps her safe.

| carseat is the way to go! For a very small investment, I got this Outward Hound carseat and it's perfect for Topher. He loves it now and it's up high enough that he can see everything that's going on outside. It's big enough that he can curl up and have a nap, too. He wears his harness and his harness attaches onto a strap inside the seat, so he's safely tethered. Topher rode in the kennel for quite some time until I got concerned that he would bounce around inside the thing if ever we were in an accident. Plus it wasn't easy to get him in and out of it if we stopped for a piddle. I've been in enough fender benders in my life to know that it doesn't take much of an impact for a little dog to go flying in a vehicle. It's worth it to spend the few dollars to keep him safe. |

| I have the My Buddy Lookout from http://www.calcarcover.com/product.a...ource=category I like it because it has the wooly interrior for better footing and the cover is washable and it's very easy to put in the car and take out. It secures really nice in the car too.

Crates would be safe but chloe rides with me on lots of little short errands that I run so I use a doggie carseat with her. This way she is elevated off the seat and can see out the window which puts her at ease, plus she is strapped in with a harness which puts me at ease

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Here are pictures of Jack and Jill trying out the new Snoozer when it arrived. Jill has ridden in it since day one. Jack on the other hand rides on my lap or lays in between the seats on a fleece pad. I know, naughty mommy for allowing that!

| I have an outward hound seat and it is perfect. Ella loves it because she can see everything and sleep when she is tired. I had her in my Mum's car the other day though and then I thought about the fact that she has airbags on the passenger seat. I was thinking it is probably not safe for her there now. I have heard some bad stories about those. I like her next to me so I can reach her but I might have to put her in the back. What do other people think? |

Is that still ok to have human babies in the front seat? or did they change that now? I don't have a human baby so I don't really know... I guess I shouldn't comment but I already typed it so I am prepared for any "lashings".
