| I Bet they get tired of the same old thing I was thinking this morning when I was feeding Parker... Man he must be tired of the same old food at the same old time every day. No wonder they go crazy for their treats!!! hahaha...."Just a Thought" |

| I've never thought of that but I'm sure they do get tired of the same thing. The only problem is if we switch it all the time then their little tummy's would always be upset... Crystal

| I've thought about that before too, Image the same thing everyday, everymeal.. BLAH... Bailey had eaten the same food since I switched from puppy food.. probably why he goes nuts to get at the catfood.. something different..

The one thing that I do that's a concession to this concern - for Bailey's breakfast, I always mix about a teaspoon of soft food in with her regular food and I change the flavor of that from time to time. It's not really her meal - it's just a little seasoning for her.

| I switch up Dolce's food all the time, and she's never had any tummy trouble. I think she enjoys the variety, and I feel like she's getting a more rounded diet. It might not work for everyone, but if your baby doesn't have stomach problems, I don't see why you need to feed the same thing all the time. |

I'm new to the boards and i've had Yasmine for 1.5 years shes 6lbs. Yeah shes a big puppy had her ever since and this year shes been getting so spoiled she gradually stoped eating her food and i started giving her what i eat.I was worried at first that this would lead to serious consequences but she has adapted and the transition has been pretty smooth. I feed her everything from romaine salad small chunks of chicken, cheese, croutons, milk in the morning with cereal the list goes on i make sure its not to much of anything but like i said its been 6 months and she's as energetic as she was last year. I think it comes down to KNOWING your dog and she being obedient.

| Another thing I worry about with Nikko besides the upset tummy is his teeth. I don't feed him soft food because my vet told me its bad for his teeth. I also avoid any other foods that would cause tooth decay and I try to feed him snacks that are crunchy so that he can massage his gums while he munches away.

| One difference between animals and humans is that we tend to eat more for enjoyment than for hunger....dogs eat for hunger and as long as something relatively tasty is filling the spot, they really don't care. I'd be very concerned about feeding a dog people food entirely. Their nutritional demands are different than ours and the good dog foods have studied for years on how to give the dogs everything that they need in their food. |
