I've thought about the apparent monotony of my pets' diets in the past, but as long as Bailey dives in and wipes out her meal (even if she has to pause a few minutes in the middle and go back to finish), I figure she's not too unhappy about it. I know we read a lot of our own feelings into our furbabies, and that's fun to do, but if we actually take action as if they're thinking like we're thinking we wind up like cribal said - with babies with upset tummies.

The one thing that I do that's a concession to this concern - for Bailey's breakfast, I always mix about a teaspoon of soft food in with her regular food and I change the flavor of that from time to time. It's not really her meal - it's just a little seasoning for her.
