| Question about Smaller Yorkies & Need Advice Hi - there was an add in the paper for a "teacup" yorkie - their wording, not mine. Anyway, he's 12 weeks old and weighs 1 lb. The boyfried bought it for his girlfirend because she was graduating from college and she can't keep it because she can't find a job and they are living with his parents and don't want her to have the puppy in their house. I went to visit him and he seemed very hyper. Is this typical of smaller dogs? Or, could it be that she was that way because they keep him locked in the crate practically 24 hours a day and he was just excited to get out? He was precious. I wanted to take him, but was a little nervous. The girl called me yesterday and said another lady was interested, but she liked me better and I had a much nicer care personality with the puppy and she wanted it to go to a good home. He's asking $500 less than what he paid. What should I do? It maybe too late already, but I can't get the poor little guy out of my mind. |

| Sounds to me like you should follow your heart and your gut. Go for it. I would. I love little yorkies. ceeby is grown and only weighs 3.4 pounds. he MIGHT be just a little more hyper that the other two but I really haven't noticed it. he has stopped growing but is still a puppy at eleven months old. |

| I wouldn't say it is typical. Some yorkies are very laid back. Not mine but I know they exist. lol It could very well be he was happy to be out of the cage and getting attention. Yorkies like to be with people. I don't know how much you know about yorkies but he might only be around two pounds. Tiny yorkies do require more care and supervision than bigger yorkies but if you are prepared for that I say get him. I would also see if you could take him to your vet and have him checked out before anything is final.

| Georgie was 1 lb at 12 weeks as well. He is hyper at times, but can be lazy too. If it was me I would go for it sounds like the baby could use a loving home. I should add that Georgie is 3 1/2lb at almost 1, and is healthy and the joy of our lives

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Go for it. I would think he was so happy to be out and around people. All puppies have their hyper times. Cali was 1 lb at 10 weeks and now at almost a year she is 41/2 lbs.

| I would get her before someone else does. I want a smaller yorkie but it will probably be a year or 2 before I get one

| Thanks Everyone Now my husband is worried because we can't see the parents, etc... don't know where he came from - one excuse after another. I left a voice message with the people to see if the other lady got him. If not, some how I've got to convince my husband we should get him. As soon as I know something, I'll post it. Now, my heart will be broken if I can't get him. Although, I have been talking to another YT'er about her puppy and that might work out, if she hasn't already promised him to someone else. |

| Go For It! 500 dollars is a good deal for a yorkie that small. Just make sure he is healthy. He could be small now and then go through a growth spurt. I am getting a little girl next week and she is jus over 1 lb at 10 weeks. I am paying 850 for her! And aren't all puppies a little hyper!! Just make sure you have Nutrical on hand for Hyperglycemia.
