| *sharing something that might be of help* I have found out that Kizzy does things just for attention, good or bad attention. I do not let her in my bedrooms or my big bathroom. So when I go into my bedroom during the day for anything I close the door. I started noticing she would pee or do something that she knew I didnt want her to do. So today I went in there and closed the door while I got dressed for the day. When I came out she was sitting on the loveseat, I just said, get down right now in a frim voice. well I think that was exactly what she wanted so later in the day I had to go in and make the bed and ya know regular stuff. when I came out there she sat again , on my loveseat, just sitting, looking at me. didnt try to get down or anything. So I totally ignored her as if I didnt see her. I walked right by her and into the kitchen. she could see me and I watched her out the corner of my eye and said nothing. finally she ran to the other end of the loveseat and came back to this end and looked at me. I still ignored her. in a few seconds she did just a faint whimper kinda bark. I still ignored her, she sat a few more seconds , maybe a min or so. then the same little whiny bark, still I ignored her. In just a couple seconds she jumped down and started playing with her toys. so later this evening I went back in there and piddled for a few minutes to see what she did. When I came back she was still in the floor playing with her toy and we both ignored each other. So I figured out she did the loveseat thing to get my (even bad) attn when I came back and saw her. Ive done her the same way for jumping up on my legs and standing there and now she rarely jumps up on me. thats why i ignored her about the loveseat today, I had done this with the jumpin on me for about the past week and noticed she did much better If i let her jump and ignored her, after a couple times she would just sit down or go play. try this with your puppy when they do something they know not to do and see if it works for you. I would like to know if it does. But there is something you cant just keep letting them do and I know this but if its something their not tearing up or getting hurt at I think its the thing to do, well for Kizzy anyway. she loves attn all time and tries anything to get mine.

| But you also might have the problem where Kizzy will think it's ok to be on the loveseat and if you don't want her on there, it'll be too late to reprimand her and she will get confused.

| Your post reminded me of the show The Dog Wisperer. The guy on there said that when a dog does that kind of wimper thing, it is actually an objection. That totally makes sense. This is such a great example of what he was talking about! She was objecting to the fact that you weren't giving her attention. You figured it out exactly! These dogs are way too smart. In response to the post about her thinking it is ok to be up on the furniture: maybe it would be a good idea to continue what you are doing by ignoring her and only when she gets off and plays by herself will you give her attention. My mom did that with her Carin Terrior and now he will bring her a toy and be so excited because he knows she will stop what she is doing and play with him.
