That totally makes sense. This is such a great example of what he was talking about! She was objecting to the fact that you weren't giving her attention. You figured it out exactly! These dogs are way too smart.

In response to the post about her thinking it is ok to be up on the furniture: maybe it would be a good idea to continue what you are doing by ignoring her and only when she gets off and plays by herself will you give her attention. My mom did that with her Carin Terrior and now he will bring her a toy and be so excited because he knows she will stop what she is doing and play with him.
exactly. When Kizzy comes to me with a toy I play with her. I throw it, she goes and brings it back and spits it out if she wants to play again. if she dont she will bring it back and lay down at my feet and chew on it or she will take it to another place and lay down with it. They dont like being left in a room alone and so they have to try something to get our attn is what I think. So lots of times I'll pick up a toy and throw it after she gets down or tell her to go get a toy and play and she will. So ignoring them for bad things I think is better than hollering at them to stop or get down because they want you to do that. Then they know they got your attn by doing what you dont want them to do. You know she had to have lots of attn by already playing dead, shaking hands, rolling over and playing fetch. I she didnt have lots of attn she wouldnt be doing all this at 4 months old.
