I tell you Daddy is not making it any better. The past two nights I found her curled up against him. He takes care of her so I can sleep so when she gets up to potty he takes her and never puts her back in her crate. I ask him why he does that and he says she is a baby and she is so pretty. Even though I don't want her to get used to sleeping with us I think its cute that he is like that with her. My boy is a momma's boy she is a daddy's girl.

| Coco did that for like a month. I was a zombie but I didn't give in and it paid off. When you give into their whinning they won't learn to stop because they associate whinning with getting what they want. I wold recommend that you just try your hardest to ignore her and she will stop. Maybe not that night or the next night but soon. I didn't want Coco to potty in bed so she didn't sleep with me until she was potty trained at 4 months. I crate trained her and she got used to it after a while and now she loves her crate. Try to ignore her or put her on a nightstand, where she can watch you sleeping. That's what did it for Coco.

| They want you to think they are whinning to go potty but they are just wanting to be held or sleep with you. The best thing to do is get some earplugs and sleep through it. It's easier said than done but surpisingly, after a couple of nights you can almost ignore the noise, cause your sensories are shot..lol..Crate training does pay off, let me tell you first hand. The important thing is to make sure they know who the alpha is, and it shouldn't be them. If you are picking them up when they whine, they know they are the alpha dog. I promise they do eventually stop whinning at night, you just have to learn to show them you are the boss and just ignore it.

| I just love all you who remind us that it does pay off!!!!! In the depths of my being I know it does. But ERRRRR! In the mean time I feel like the next umpteen years of my life will be sleepless....... By the way - she is out cold in her crate right now... how convenient!

I was a zombie at work and it was only my 2nd week at a new job. But when I had her completely potty trained at 4 months, I realized my hard work in crate training her and all of the sleepless nights were worth it, for her to understand who mommy is and who baby is. Now she's a much happier baby and about 6 months ago I removed the door to her crate and she will just go in there and chill sometimes. It's her safe zone

| Funny thing is that Timmy never whined and just to have her as a whiner shocks me. Timmy loves to sleep in his crate, in fact he will play with us in the bed for a few minutes and then he is ready to go in his crate and sleep. So I get his blankee and cover him and he sleeps like an angle. but then reality sinks in and I say they are 2 different babies with different personalities. |

I am in tears, she whined for about 30 minutes straight and I had to leave the room to keep from getting her out of her crate, but we played for almost 20 minutes, she went potty and she isn't hungry and its bedtime and she wasn't having it. I know that I have to show her whose boss. My daughter sings really well and when I left the room I could hear her singing to Beauty, is that ok? I know it may sound like a dumb question. ThanksShe just told me that she sang Beauty to sleep! Tameika and Beauty

By the way - I TOTALLY AGREE - it is wonderfully good for them to be crate trained. It makes life better for us and them all the way around! Smiles to all!
