You guys are right, the point system is a confusing thing at times. I'm sure it takes most folks a while to get the hang of it, myself included. I have learned one thing to be true though that was mentioned in the above posts...the judge does not have to award the dog even if it is the "only" dog in the class. Your dog truly earns it's win in the judge's eyes if that is the case. They have been known to excuse an "only" entry from the ring for alot of different reasons. A dog may be spectacular but is not performing well, or may show a sign of skittish from being new and in a nervous environment for them. So be proud of your win. You earned it! (and it is great experience too)
