| ![]() OK. it's been a week since I took both Artie and Abigail to the Groomers, I have finally calmed down enough to be able to "Vent" in a non-violent manner. All I wanted her to do was pluck the inside of their ear canals (ear hair) and trim the hair on the edge of their ears, clip their nails, and shave their private parts (sanitary shave). After a previous Groomer (using Bad Judgement) took it upon herself to clip the hair in between Artie's eyes and near the bridge of his nose! Now I have to tell every Groomer not to do this since, I'm trying to grow it back out ![]() She replied they don't do the ear canals my Vet. has to.....so my Vet. did, she trimmed their ears crooked and un-even, and only trimmed in between their paws not around their feet. ![]() Still charged me full price as if she did it all, and as if it was done correctly? I ended up doing both their ears over the right way! And trimming their feet with my own pair of scissors......so basically the only thing she did do right was to shave their behinds and private area. And Luckily my Vet. didn't charge me for theri ear canal plucking! What's the point of paying a Groomer? Especially if she does worse work than me? I'm definitly not going there anymore! I guess I just expect too much? Maybe to do your Job correctly is expecting too much? ![]() I'm really disappointed and pissed, makes me want to get my own "Groomers Degree", just to do it right! |

| ![]() I know how you feel. One time I went to the groomers and told them to cut Sandy's body but to leave the face and head (besides the ears) alone as I wanted them to grow out. They ended up cutting her all up, plus cutting her actual skin. I was fit to be tied. It turned out that it was a different groomer than usual and no one let me know ![]()

| ![]() i know what you mean, i took roxie to the groomer yesterday, and she gave her a bath, trimmed her face, legs, feet, butt, her pee pee hair, and shaved her ears, and everything is uneven, shave too much off her feet and now they look really skinny, and on her face, her left side is shorter than the right, but i can see her pretty lil eyes now, but she didnt have to take off so much! her ears are so uneven, they look awful, thank god for hair growing back!! ![]() |

| ![]() I think they get clipper and scissor happy which is why I will be doing my own grooming at home(maybe on rare occasion go to groomer). I do my bichons grooming with no problems and now plan to do my Yorkies also. They never seem to listen to what u want and neither know how to pick up a phone and question whether its ok to do something that had not previously been agreed upon. Sorry I'm still having a lil trouble getting over lookin at my baby. OOh after ALL the clipping and cutting mine did the one thing I wanted done which was shaving the ears did not get done. Since my hubby had no clue and went to get the dog he didnt say anything. Soo I had to clip once again whatever I could. |

| ![]() I took Gracie and Scruffy to a groomer and specifically told her not to cut Scruufy's mustache or Gracies ponytail. When I went to get them guess what???? Scruffy' mustache and beard were gone and Gracie had these stupid looking bangs that I had to let grow out for a year!! I was furious! |

| ![]() I need to get Sully a puppy cut, soon....but now I'm thinking he may be better off the way he is now than destroyed by a groomer who doesn't know what they are doing - and then I'm out $35 bucks for a big disappointment....hmm... I guess I'd better start asking around town for the most reliable groomer. I'm sorry to hear about that mess! I am sure I can speak for everyone here and say thank you for warning the rest of us...and good luck finding a good groomer. They exist, surely they do, lol!

| ![]() Like Leximax, I also have someone come to the house since I have so many!LOL I thought of a suggestion that might work after reading all the disappointing posts, and that would be that it might help to write down what you want in detail, go over it with the person who will being doing the actual grooming on your dog, and use the dog to demonstrate as you describe it. Better yet would be to have a picture of the perfect "look" you are trying to achieve and attach that to the written description. I know it's hard to find a good groomer, especially one who really cares and when you do, it is good to tip them well!! This helps a lot because they really want to do what you want so you keep coming back. |

| ![]() I know extactly how you feel. I took my Rambo to the groomer's last month and told them i needed sanitary trim and also wanted his ears to be tipped. but that's all i said to do. She did take it upon herself to cut the top of his hair and also took way too much hair off around his eyes and nose. Now the hair that is growing back is in his lil eyes. I just don't understand the problem. That's not what i wanted at all I was soo mad. Then when it comes time to pay the groomers asks me how much tip would i like to give her. I was so mad that she couldn't wait for me to give it to her. I'm never going back there again so now i have to find another place to take him. |

| ![]() I take my to Petco to the same groomer evertime. I bath them at home ans she does what they call a quick cut, which is the ears, feet and private areas. I walk with one around the store while she grooms the other. It takes less then an hour to do both and only cost $8 dollars a peice. I have head stories about leaving them in the cages with there little feet going through the wire and the dryers getting them to hot. I know a lot of people don't like to take them to Petco or Petmart, but I have been pleased with the groomer here she has been grooming for 15 years and had her own shop. It is hard to find a good one.

| ![]() OK. I'm glad it's not me......I thought I was expecting too much? I just keep repeating "It will grow back"! I used to go to Petco, I had the same Groomer every time and I did'nt have to say over and over what not to do! But since we have moved to Myrtle Beach the closest one is a 2 hour drive each way. It's very frustrating to find a Groomer that will do only what I want done. Not what they think should be done! I don't know why I trusted them, I don't trust anyone else to do my hair, so from now on I will do theirs too? Except for the "Sanitary Shave" on their private parts and clip their nails. I don't trust myself to do that, besides my Husband gets too nervous. And I do have "Pet Clippers" (I don't use his he would have a fit) ![]() |
