meds hi new here..i have a question. do any of you use petmeds.com? i guess i should explain why i ask that question. i use revolution on my 2 yorkies. I thought i could cut the cost down just a bit and order it thru petmeds.com as advertised on tv. when i asked them at the vets office they acted as tho it teed them off. their exact words were (and very harshly i might add) " Pfiser has told us if we wrote a perscription to petmed.com they would drop as their supplier". am i wrong in thinking they lied to me? thanks.. denise

Yup, the vets don't like you to use other places because they make quite a bit of money selling the meds themselves. I think it's ridiculous and that I should decide where I want to pay for my meds. My vet charged a LOT more than 1800PetMeds and I decided to shop online. Yes, they are definitely lying about the part about Pfizer dropping them if they write a prescription. I'd personally try to find another vet.

| Yep, fasteddie, I think you're right! Our Dr. Lucy always tells us whether something is just as good OTC too. She also says "whether you get it here or somewhere else"! Some things need only to come from a vet. We have never asked for a prescription but I feel like if we asked, she would write it.

I was considering Petmeds as well I was considering using PetMeds in the future because I'd like to compare prices. My yorkie got prescribed 1/2 a pill cut in two. I was charged $18 . It is called Program Tab. it's for Ringworm I give it to him one day and then give him the 1/4 piece in two weeks. I just cant believe that 1/4 pill cost $9.00 a piece! I havent asked my vet if he'll write prescriptions.Everyone is very nice to us there. But if I get a negative attitude I wont hesitate and send him to H--L! I did'nt even think to ask him about that cause I didnt expect that would be a problem ever. However I am going to search for a vet who specializes in small breeds. My vet is only 2 miles away from us and it is very convenient for me. But if my baby is going to be treated better and like a little king ,I would not mind driving a few extra miles. I just keep thinking then...1 pill would cost $36 plus tax!? lol Genie

After looking through my local yellow pages I see a huge Ad of our vet. Their first line says Specializing in Small Animal medicine. Even though I had asked before if they see many Yorkies at all. And they told me they have a lot of Yorkies that go there. I'm wondering then why did they inject his vaccine in the back of his neck. My dog was in sooooo much pain for 2 1/2 days after those two shots. I did not know that my baby has no fat whatso ever there and this is why he was in so much pain. We could not even carry him without him crying in pain.I hate to be a pain. But I see myself protecting this little guy as much as I protect my two daughters. sorry for the long post again, Genie

Don't ever apologize for sticking up for your little guy! And I would start interviewing vets!!! I know that I have changed doctors a couple of times until I found one that I liked. STILL, I have to be in charge of my own medical care or they won't catch something.....Recently, my husband was the victim of some real doctor/hosptial screwups that could have cost him his life, but we both caught the screwups in the nick of time and he recovered. Boy is that doctor and that hosptial NICE to us! We are not the type to sue, but they don't know that, so we are enjoying being pampered. My point: If we don't stick up for our little guys, who will? They don't have a voice.....WE are their voice. So you let that vet know WHY you are unhappy with the treatment you and your little one are getting. And don't apologize for it! Isn't it wonderful that we can all come here to vent??? Big hugs to you and your baby!
