| Coat types Hi all, please pardon my ignorance. I've been trying to read past posts about coat types but still have some questions. Am I correct in thinking that the puppy hair is different than what her adult hair will be? She's really soft now (at 4 months) and probably what would be called cottony. She mats really bad, but here hair also seems to break easily when we are brushing it out. Just wondering if I can tell what here adult hair will be like and when to expect mostly adult hair growth. I can already see gold tips poking up through here grey skull cap hair. She's got almost an in of grey roots throughout nearly here entire body and I read that this is an indication of a large quantity of hair. Also, I haven't been using conditioner on her after shampooing. Does it make a difference in less tangling? I can not afford the really expensive stuff, but we will look around for a quality alternative. Thanks for your help and Lola says thanks too. She hates having tangles brushed out and we really want grooming time to be a good bonding experience for us!

| The puppy hair is different than the adult hair however Chachi had a cotton coat when he was a puppy and he still has a cotton coat. A conditioner does help

| I can't tell the difference either! I can tell you that conditioner makes a big difference - Oscar's coat matts pretty badly too sometimes and I wasn't using a conditioner at first. I bought the petsilk moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and what a difference! And it smells wonderful!
