Pet Insurance Hi All! I know everyone must either be watching Lost or American Idol right now but when you get a chance please respond. My KoKo has been ill, in and out of the hospital for the past two weeks. The medical bills have are up to $1800. I was silly not to buy insurance for him but now I am need of it. Does anyone know of an insurance that pays pre-existing claims? Thanks in advance.

I would ask your Vet. I know our Vet has contact info on various types of dog insurance. Hope your pup gets well soon.

i'm sorry to say, i don't think there's any insurance company that will cover a pre-existing and ongoing condition. insurance is a gamble. you're betting that if sometime comes up, you will receive more benefits than you've paid in premiums, while the insurance company is betting that you will pay more in premiums than you will submit in claims. it doesn't make business sense to knowingly accept an applicant that will require more medical expenses than the premiums will cover. your best bet is to see if there's a payment or insurance program with your vet to make ongoing medical treatments more affordable.
