| Always loose 24/7. I'm home most of the time, but don't even crate when I'm not. |

Bailey spends about 2 hours a day in his crate, because he is still only 5 months and I put him there while i shower, make beds and what not. (Not completely housebroken, so cannot watch him at those times) Both of my boys sleep at night in their crates as well, other than that he is at my feet the whole time.

| When we were house training Sully as a puppy, he was confined in his kennel whenever we left the house - which was a lot. Not a cruel amount, but a lot. Once he was pretty trained, we would "confine" him to the bathroom whenever we were gone so maybe about 3 hrs a day. Now that Sully has zero accidents, and he runs free 24-7. Well, in the house or the studio or wherever we are

| Coco is only confined to my dinning room and kitchen area while I'm at work. It's a big area so she has plenty of play space. Once I get home she has full access to the whole apartment. She gets too nervous when I gave her run of the house. I came home to chewed up carpet corners and a shaking and miserable ball of fur She's happier in small spaces when mommy is not home

| Cindy has had the run of the house pretty much 24/7 since we got her. We started out gating her in the kitchen or bathroom with potty pads. Once she learned to use them, she has had the run of the complete house, even when we're gone. There is almost allways someone home with her though, even when hubby and I are gone my 15 year old son is usually there. I would rather confine my animals to an area, than a crate when potty training. Once they are trained and house has been puppy proofed, I dont see any reason to even confine them to a room. I guess I just dont like crates.
