Cindy has had the run of the house pretty much 24/7 since we got her. We started out gating her in the kitchen or bathroom with potty pads. Once she learned to use them,she has had the run of the complete house,even when we're gone. There is almost allways someone home with her though,even when hubby and I are gone my 15 year old son is usually there. I would rather confine my animals to an area, than a crate when potty training. Once they are trained and house has been puppy proofed, I dont see any reason to even confine them to a room. I guess I just dont like crates.
