I sincerely don't think it would be an ideal fit for this particular person/family. People think that because yorkies are small that they are easier than taking care of a big dog and that's just not the case (at least not for me, and it seems like a few other people). It's my concern because having a yorkie has been a blessing, but I've also learned that they are a lot of work and you have to take a lot more precautions then when you have a bigger dog. They need a lot of attention, love and patience and he just doesn't have that. It also concerns me that he has very small children who could harm the dog (unintentionally) but there is just no need for that when there are so many other breeds suitable for him and his family. I hope that answers your question.
Thank you all for your replies!! He decided against the yorkie for his family and is looking into a medium size dog. I think that'll be a better fit for him and the kids!
