My Bailey is both wee wee pad and out door trained.....though he is only 5 months, he goes through phases where he will only go on one or the other.....He rarely misses doing a pee on the pad but when it comes to poo he misses alot, even though he never did a month ago. I was getting nutso, thinking he was doing it on purpose, hubby pointed out that Bailey has grown alot, therefore his potty spot should be bigger, because he circles more, and needs the space to do his turning with out stepping in any soil ( I don't change it after each pee).....so we put some newspaper under the pad, the newspaper sticks out from the pad, thus giving him the impression that he has a large space, he now hit the pad almost always, and does his circles on the newspaper, and hits the pad. Just a thought....maybe it might work for you too...good luck, and also our furbabes are like kids , remember mom needs a night out away from the little ones. We tend to come home feeling refreshed and ready to deal with things again.

I got tired of Scooter pooping just over the edge so, I put newspaper under his wee pad and made a 2-3 inch border. All of a sudden, his aim got better. I was just trying to make cleanup easier, but I think it helped him out too.

They didn't try to eat the newspaper?? I'm afraid she might eat it.

My Katia did that a few times when we still used pee pads. We came to understand that she hates being around pee or poop and when the pee pad was dirty she didn't want to step on it. Even after she used it one time, she wanted to avoid it after that one time. I think most dogs behave like this around waste. Is the pee pad clean? Since she's going in the house anyway, I would suggest litter box training.

Have you considered maybe she might have a bladder infection....? Hmmm she might also still smell her pee in that area ....how about moving the pad to cover that lil bit that she goes on ... and see if that works! Trust me girl I get fussy too w/ those accidents that's why I am considering moving to a ALL tile townhome!!! LOL.... let us know how this works...

Well...yeah! He tries to eat everything. But, he didn't ACTUALLY eat it and he didn't move it enough to make a difference.

She has no bladder infection. I think she's just frustrated in this new apartment. For some reason I think she feels more lonely in this apartment than she did in the other one. I can't understand her frustration but it's obvious she's upset about something. I can't afford to buy another dog right now, and can't afford a dog walker. I don't know what to do. I am thinking that I might change her play area. Right now I gate her up in the kitchen and dinning room (across from each other). Maybe I will gate her up so she has part of the living room and I will leave the balcony door open so she can go outside as she pleases. I'm on the second floor, so she wouldn't get other animals bugging her like cats, and no one would steal her. The balcony has no areas where she could fall over, and there's a concrete wall up so she can't jump off. What do you guys think?

Bailey didn't try to eat the newspaper, which is funny, because he does try to eat everything else lol, but he has never bothered the stuff under his pad.
