We hear this all of the time and in no way does a Yorkie look like a rat. I think people say it because of the dogs size and they ALWAYS think they are just the funniest person (and first) to ever think of this! It's soooo annoying! |
The nerve of some people..... Chanel is gorgeous! She's nowhere near looking like a rat. Maybe the couple was using the term "rat" as to say how small she is....... some people do that you know. But still...... HOW RUUUUUUDE. |
your baby dose not look like a rat. She is CUTE! My parents call my girls a little rat after I give them baths....Or my dad calls them a mop or a rug. It makes me a mad some times!!! Half the time I let it go through one ear and out the other, but sometimes it really gets to me. I wish sometimes people would keep things to them selfs. |

I don't think Yorkies look like rats but I too have had my brother in law call my Lucy a little rat! I was offended at first but he wasn't really saying it out of spite so I let it go. I think people say things like that about small dogs because they just don't get them, the idea of a small dog, I mean. They don't understand why people have them or veiw them as dogs. To be honest if you asked me 10 yrs ago if I would ever have a small dog, I would have said no way but people change and now I wonder why I didn't have a Yorkie earlier. Now I just want more lol. Also too, maybe people have the idea to call small dogs rats because they were used as ratters?( dogs who were used to catch rats). Anyhow it still is really rude that they didn't keep their opinions to themselves! As a small dog, I think Yorkies are one of THE most beautiful, friendly, cute furballs. :) |
Nope, she looks nothing like a rat! She's pretty cute to me. :) In any case, if the woman is so bothered by dogs, she shouldn't be at a dog park. Honestly, the stupidity of some people these days... |
hello everyone. well im new to this but i think that all the babies are cute,they are just like children. i only have one now,i lost my first one in a terrible accident the day after new years and i am still heart broken,i never thought that i would get so attached to a dog,but everyone here knows that you love them just like there your own children,and your going to protect them as such,i have my lucy now and i love her with all my heart :aimeeyork :animal-pa |
I haver to remember the "you wanna see a rat look in the mirror" for next time im out with twinkle, shes been called a pumped up rat, among other stupid things. They are just jealous! Maybe they cant afford a yorkie! Well I think Chanel is beautiful and im hoping twnkle will turn out so lovely, just ignore the idiots! :p :p :p |

Good for you for sticking up for your baby. It just galls me that those who don't like dogs, or cats, or children or whatever else, always think they're in the right. After all the afore mentioned beings are messy and icky. I say that just like the Grinch...."their hearts are several sizes tooooo small"! :mad: |
Thank you for your honesty! I have read each and every reply, and i can tell you that, I AM AMAZED by each and everyone of you!! I have never seen so much love shown for any other breed than for our yorkies on THIS forum. I am PROUD of those that admitted to what they "used" to think of this breed, and now that they own one they "eating their words" that is SO honest! If those people were rude enough to say something then you had every right to say something back. I have noticed the jealous comments too, mostly from other family members that have small dogs, but not as small and cute as Jaci. Your baby is so cute! |
