She is a very pretty Yorkie. She doesn't resemble a rat in any way! She has a very pretty coloring and a very pretty, expressive face. I always say people are just jealous or why would they bother saying anything at all! It is amazing no one whould ever go up to a person pushing a baby and say your kid looks like a rat or ugly etc.! |
A few people have said that my dog looks like a rat. It doesn't bother me at all. |
If she is a rat I hope I get a huge infestation very soon! She is so adorable. Only thing I can think of, did you say there was water? If yorkies get all wet, well, it does change their appearance a bit! Don't listen to other people you know she's beautiful, they are just clueless! |
People like that are the kind you teach your little Yorkies not to go near. How dare they insult you and your pup. I would have reacted the same way. You did good! You not only stood up for your own baby but for all of our little ones as well. Thank you! :) |

Yes they're generally the same animal, but the domesticated rats are bred to be smaller in size and more tolerant, tidy and enjoyable then say sewer rats that are usually bigger, uglier, and just plain out are gross. If anyone ever asks me what makes a great first pet for a child I ALWAYS say a rat, a mouse or a guinea pig. My reason is Hamster, dwarf hamsters and gerbils all bite VERY hard and they don't let go right away and draw blood most of the time, unless they are consistently handled, and with gerbils they run really fast and if you pick them up by their tails they can actually disengage their hair sheath and you'll be left only holding the hair from their tail and they'll be in their cage with a bloody tail. Mice, rats and guinea pigs all live a long time, don't bite(but can), are generally clean, and they enjoy handling and love to cuddle. |
nope she looks like a yorkie to me..I didn't see a tail resembling a rat..no beady eyes resembling a rat..she has too much fur to be a rat ..no pointy nose..i didn't see any whiskers..so nope i'd say she's a yorkie lol..and a very pretty one at that.. |
She is beautiful, don't let the ignorance of others get to you. I know it is hard, I get some pretty nasty comments from the friends of my 12 year old son, when they come over to play. I guess with adults speaking the way they did to you, it's no wonder these kids have no respect or common manners. I always tell them, that if he displeases them , that the door opens easily and I'm sure they will have no problem finding their way out. :animal37 |

Come to think of it I've heard yorkies referred to as little rat dogs quite frequently, maybe it's because they're so small? I don't think Gypsy looks like a rat, lol. Do you? |
First of all, I wish that lady laying in the grass would have accidently rolled over on poop, who lays in the grass at a dogpark? That is just gross! Second, That elderly lady was just plain rude if she meant to say that she looked like a rat. Maybe she meant to say that she looks like a mouse? She is cute and little! I love her colors! |
Your baby doesn't look like any other rats I've seen. She is GORGEOUS. Some people are just idiots -- plain and simple. |
I also get upset when people refer to Yorkies as rats. I've heard that time and time again and to me, there is nothing more disgusting than a rat and there is NO comparison to a darling little yorkie! Chanel is gorgeous and I'm glad you told that old bitty to look in the mirror! |
LOL A Rat?????? Hmmmmm Princess looks like a little rat after her bath, but looks all Yorkie after! Chanel is a very pretty little girl, might look like Princess when she's in the tub, but she's a really pretty Yorkie. Lets just hope this person was upset becasue her pants got wet :p Who in there right mind would lay down on the grass in a Dog Park? Oh I know, the same people who went to school just to eat their lunch! :D :D :D :D :D |

My boss loves to tease me about Max by calling him a rat. He does it just to get under my skin. I don't let it bother me. I know my baby is beautiful. Chanel is gorgeous and I would love to have a little girl yorkie just like her! Ahh...maybe one day!!!! |
