Just don't listen to all the "rat" talk!
 
My mother in law used to come in MY house and call Oscar "ugly"! She would say "He is so ugly!" and then laugh her head off. I came really close to asking her to leave and did tell her that it hurt my feelings when she talked about him that way. She got to like him on the 15 hour trip to Houston a month ago when she was forced to ride in the car with him. And he was sure that she got some lovin. Some people just don't know when to keep their mouth shut!

I'm so glad i came and asked for your opinion's. THANKS to YOU ALL that answered and gave me different views of what she might have meant by calling my baby a "rat" ... it's just not nice to say things like that. It would be different if she had told her husband that quietly, but she said it out loud for me to hear. I dont know why people have to be so mean. How can they be so nasty to something so tiny... it just makes me shake my head.

Oh and YES LOL... she does look like a drowned rat when she's wet hehehe :p


If ANYBODY is EVER nasty to anyone of your babies, PLEASE SLAP them for ME!

Some people are just so rude! They don't understand that with some people, these are our children. How would they feel if someone called their human child a rat? Ignorance...gotta love it!

She's beautiful; don't listen to those people. They are just rude! Also if she's a 'rat', well then I wouldn't mind if my house was overridden with rodents that cute. ;)

YOu girls are going to fall out of your chair when you read this..but my oldest daughter LOVES rats lol..i'm not kidding..she has had 3 pet rats..thank god they dont live that long. And once her male got in with my other daughters female and we had babies lol..to top it off the female died so guess who got stuck feeing formula to 9 baby rats..me..they were too small to take a bottle so i had to put them in my hand and squirt formula in my hand and they would suck the formula off my hand. It felt so gross lol..the things you do for your kids.
the next time someone says your yorkie looks like a rat..say "and only an ass would point that out"..not that she does but it will get your point across lol..or you could buy him a shirt with a picture of a rat on it..lol

Awww, she's sooooooooooo adorable, and looks NOTHING like a rat (I mean come on.... do rats have hair?)! I have 2 chihuahuas and have almost come to accept people calling them rattish since they are so small and have very short fur - I know that it's no excuse for people being rude, but... oh well, I just ignore them.

I think she is absolutely adorable and I promise I am being honest. I was walking George the other day when a teenager said that he looked like a rat, I simply replied well don't be mad if you find little rat terds on your porch when you leave for school tomorrow morning. All of his friends laughed at him and that was the end of it. People just say things to be mean about us, our children and the animals we love....and personally I think they are all idiots :D Like my mother always told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Oh and Georgie thought Chanel was very pretty too ;)

being honest, i think she is adorable! i love her colors! that lady was just plain mean to say something like that about such a cute baby! i be you she was just JEALOUS! arent some people so immature? :rolleyes:

My husband looked at me and packed out laughing and said, don't get yourself worked up like that over some silly people! I was like, NO 1 calls my baby a rat, how dare they??

Now i know, if i ask my family or friends their opinion, they will tell me she is beautiful, so i am now asking you guys, does Chanel look anything like a rat??
Like any mother, i think my child is beautiful... i'm madly in love with my girls and i don't care if they are ugly or cute, i love them as is they were my very own kids.
I just couldnt get this episode off my mind!

I had to vent, thanks for listening!

Hi Mandy,

I get it all the time from one of my friends, some people are just like that, and i always say them who dont like animals of any kind are not nice people anyway....my friend would hate me for saying that...No your baby is so cute...and i bet that woman wasent!!!;-)

One time when I was walking my little “Tiki” (whom was a beautiful little angel) I heard someone say the same thing, which just galled me though I said nothing. I am glad you answered her back, the old crow!! I often think of that episode and regret not spilling a couple of nasty comments her way.

I think she's very cute, and not at all "rat like"..LOL I will admit to once being among the ignorant in Yorkies. The first Yorkie pup I ever met belonged to my best friend, and I told her he wasn't a "real dog" he was a wind up toy...when his head broke color, I told her he looked like Eddie Munster..LOL I EAT MY WORDS every day!!!!! LOL I was just too stupid to know the love of a Yorkie, and now...I'll take my "wind up toys" any day! :)

How great of you to admit that! I admire you for that. :) Oh, and my friend call's Baby a steak sandwich b/c he says that he eats steak sanwiches begger than she! LOL :animal36
