Females Only -What Age are they House Trained to go Outside? My male was completely House Trained to go outside at the age of 5 months with no problem or accidents, due to his personality he is very outgoing "Nosey" and always wanted to go out! But my 9 week old female has no interest in going outdoors at all. Maybe she's just too young to start Training? Her personality is definately different! At what age do you start to Training Females? I've heard horror stories. One of my girlfriends has a 5 year old Female, that is still not even Paper Trained! She does go to work outside her home for long periods of time! I am fortunate enough to be home all day, so I do have the time to Train.

I probably won't be much help because I got Jasmine in September and it was a little cold. Since I live in Pa, I have only recently started putting her outside. She is now 9 months old. She is trained to go on the PeePads, but she loves to be outside. I would say it depends on the puppy itself, male or female. They all have such different personalities. Some of these little yorkies can take a long time to be fully trained. I have even heard that they are never really trained. I know that so far that is true for Jasmine. Good Luck and be consistant. That's the most important thing.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I think it all depends on the personality...Magic loves to go outside to potty and will only go inside if it is an emergency...we started training her as soon as we got her at 8 weeks and she is about 98% trained....Sailor on the other hand loves to go outside but will NOT potty outside, she pefers to use the pee pads indoors...she will hold it the time we go for walks just to wait until we get home...she is also about 98% trained...IMO I think that it depends on each yorkie..some pefer inside and some pefer outside...

Snoodles was a bugger! We got her at 14 weeks. I started training her immediately! She was fully trained at 9 months. Thought it would never happen. But she goes outside all the time now----no accidents! Yea! Pat

We got Lady when she was 7 weeks old and started with her straight away and she was fully trained at 4 months old.She was wonderful after that,NO accidents what so ever..until we got Jess, our other yorkie girl when Lady was 7 months old.Since then she has NEVER been the same and will not use her pads, she pees in our shoes,on our feet, under chairs, under the beds etc..everywhere but her pads. She is now 17 months old and having to be cofined because we just cant re-train her,she has no interest or intention in using her pads, and although we have tried EVERYTHING she is as stubborn as a mule.I have lost hope now because she is almost a year and a half old
