| ![]() Cassie will get used to the puppy and they will be great friends eventually! This is not uncommon, just takes a little while for everyone to find their place. ![]()

| ![]() I think Cassie was feeling a bit jealous, as any little child would when there is to be a new member of the family. She'll be ok eventually.....

| ![]() New puppies in any home are usually an adjustment for any other dog(s). I have introduced many new puppies during my life - and have usually had to wait a week or two before they became fast friends. But, it has always happened, and we have never had any serious problems. I doubt that taking a dog to meet puppies would accomplished what you hoped it would. Even if your dog had enjoyed meeting the little puppies, it isn't the same as one of them coming to your house to stay. Good luck - You get the puppy you like, and I'm sure everyone will be good friends before you know it! Carol Jean |

| ![]() Cassie is just a bit miffed with you. How dare you touch another yorkie, she is your baby! I know, I had one just like that. Just a suggestion for when you bring the new one home. Keep Cassie away and bathe the new pup with the same shampoo you use on her before you introduce the two. It will take away the unknown smell and replace it with one she's familiar with. I recommend new owners do this when introducing one of my pups to an already pet household. It helps to take the sting out of the current family members and makes the transition much easier on all. They don't feel nearly as threatened if the smell is one they know. I'm not saying it works all the time, but it sure helps most of the time. It won't take them long to be best buddies.

| ![]() she was probably a little jealous that all the attention wasn't on her. that first week you bring in the new baby she might have to adjust a little, but im sure they will become like sisters soon. expect some fighting for mommy's attention though, oh and be sure to tell us when you get your new baby! ![]()

| ![]() Thanks everyone for the great suggestion!! I am going to try the shampoo trick it sounds like a good idea. I have been reading about the introduction of some of the others and the fact that it might take a week or so. So will take it slow and hopefully they will bond. I can get her around May 4. which just happens to be Cassie's birthday. She is a real cutie she weighs 1lb 4oz at 6 weeks. She is going to be more blond then Cassie. Names are between. Kellie, Abbie, Hallie, Dixie. Which one do you think I should call her? ![]() |

| ![]() She may be jealous. Or, she may be afraid. Or, she may be confused. The fact is that we really don't know what she is feeling. Whatever it is, though, I expect it will pass with time. Just be patient with her. You're asking her to make a major adjustment.
