| ![]() Illy has a harness that connects to my car's seat belt. So she sits in the passenger seat but she can't climb all over the car. She seems to like it. She loves car rides.

| ![]() We have 3 ![]() Anyway, he did OK and so did Rex. The only problem is that their straps got crossed when they switched sides. We have a looong car trip coming up in June - about 15 hours over 3-4 days, so they will get plenty of riding practice. Note: the buddy lookout is waaaay bigger than I thought it was - so if you get it, be prepared. I do think it is the way to go for us because Rex is only 3 months old and he wants to be with Rowdy. Rowdy, on the other hand, kinda wants to be wtih him and kinda not - so we'll see how it goes.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() We just got a Snoozer. Took the family out for our first ride in the Snoozer. Jill loved it. Jack was in his new safety harness. He didn't like it so much cause he wasn't able to hop around the truck. Jack will get to try the new Snoozer out as well and if he likes it we will get another. Thank to all for your brilliant insight into keeping our furbabies safe when riding in the car.

| ![]() For the first couple of months that I had Topher, he travelled in the crate, which was seatbelted onto the seat. The problem I had with that was if ever I was involved in an accident, Topher would be tossed around INSIDE the crate, and I didn't like that idea. A few weeks ago we purchased an Outward Hound car seat and it's attached to one of the second row captains chairs in my van. I can't put him in the front due to the airbags. I was putting off purchasing a seat due to cost, but luckily a friend of mine found one in a town 3 hours from here for 39.99...an excellent price. I was thinking that I'd have to spend 100.00 for sure! I've been involved in enough accidents to know that ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN and that they can happen anytime, anywhere and when you least expect them. I would feel so darn guilty if anything happened to Topher because I didn't have him restrained properly. He's getting more and more used to the carseat each time we go out....it wasn't an instant love affair, that's for sure! He sits there and stares at me...lol...as if to say 'what are you doing to me, woman?' hehe But I can relax, knowing that if anything were to happen, I've done everything in my power to keep him safe. ...Last November while out doing an errand, an elderly gentleman pulled out in front of me from a stop sign. (he didn't stop, nor did he see me). I had to slam on the brakes, but I still hit him and the impact (though I was travelling at a very slow speed) was quite severe. I was properly restrained in my seatbelt, but still had some injuries. I can't imagine what a relatively minor accident like that would do to an unrestrained yorkie.... |

YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() I have a vestharness for chester from canine friendly products, it is a harness that is a safety restraint, the seat belt goes through it. The vest is padded as well and it is prestty comfortable for him, he is in the passenger seat. My new honda civic has a sensor in the seat so anything under 60lbs the side and front airbag will not deploy, I love it.................. |

| ![]() Mine sit on my lap too, if i put them in a crate they flip out and get all worked up and sick, Harley likes his head out the window too to fill the air blowing. Haley will sit on my lap or Mikes.

| ![]() When I'm riding with my husband, Buttercup sits in my lap but when I'm alone or with my son, he's in the back seat either with my son or by himself. I don't really know if that is a safe thing to do though. |

| ![]() I thought I was the only one with yorkie car freakout syndrome. I just went to the Dr Foster site and ordered the rear seat harness, I dont like those booster seats for some reason. Kenyon is ok in the car as long as his head is up and out...does anyone know why they freak out about that in the car? He is fine in the house..walking...secured in the carrier, soft or hard..but put him in the car and turn on the motor...u would think he was being murdered!!! ![]()
