| Safe to go for walks? My Ginger is 11 weeks and will be going for her second round of shots tomorrow. I heard that we shouldn't take her out until she has had all her shots. We work all day and when we get home, she is so excited and has so much energy. We play with her for about a half hour, but she seems to have too much energy for only that, so I have been taking her for a walk/run around my condo complex just so she can get some of that energy out. I make sure she doesn't sniff around and don't let her on the grass. Do you guys think this is okay? If not, what else can I do to help her release her energy fast? Also, any suggestions on cleaning her ears? Can't take her to the groomers yet, so I have to do it myself.

| Hmmmmm, I don't think I would let her walk on the grounds until she has all her shots. Parvo is something you don't want Ginger to get. People can track it in by there shoes. When Princess was a baby, I had people step in bleach before they came in. Just last week we were at the vet's for Poncho's shots, and they had two furbabies with parvo there. To be on the safe side, I'd hold off on walks, even walking around your complex. Not sure about her ears, maybe ask your vet.

| Thanks for the responses. If I need to hold off on walks, I will. My sister's pup died of Parvo. It was very sad. What else can I do to help release her energy? Playing isn't enough.

| They all have lots of energy. You can play chase inside your home. That's what we did with Princess. LOL She's three now and we still play chase. Just be really careful, I had a friend whos furbaby got parvo from the vets office. I told her not to put her down on the ground, but she thought it would be OK there, well just before she went in, a furbaby with parvo went in. And she caught it. It was really sad. There will be lots of time for walks, the most important thing for you to now is keep her safe.

| I agree with all the above - walks can wait. You can never be too careful. |
