3lbs, guess i did not see that one, the page with the moms listed has them all at 4lbs and over, that is terrible even most here who have never bred would not try to breed a female that small.......

I just think it is wrong to put a high price on a pup because it is smaller. Even so called reputable breeders are doing this. When I was calling looking for a pup I couldn't believe that breeders that were supposed to have a good reputation were charging $3000 Cdn because the puppy may turn out to be under 3lbs.

i feel you on that, some of the prices have gotten outlandish. it makes no sense to charge that much for any pet of any breed.

I do not agree with the teaspoon or the arm and a leg thing as it is not funny at all.
Now I am sure I will get some people mouthing me on this one but hey I am allowed to voice my opinion just like everyone else on here.
I do not think that all people who do breed the 4,5, and maybe 6 pound females are just out for the money. Some of us can love the breed and want to have off spring from certain looking ones. Some of us do want certain qualities, looks and so on in their yorkies. As for me the thing people are stuck on about health issues does not always go that way. You can breed the smaller ones without risking their lives or their litters lives. If you have them checked out by a REPUTABLE vet and that vet knows yorkies and says yes it is ok and that this dam should be just fine, maybe with monitoring and so on then why not breed her....... If you are just breeding to get the very tiny ones and keep going tinier and tinier then I would say that is a problem. But if your looking to better the breed, you care about the breed and not just the money you get then what is the problem???
People say they breed the standard size yorkies.....well aren't the AKC standards anything up to 7 pounds?
I could go on and on but I just honestly think sometimes people jump the gun and go off on others who breed without knowing the truth. Not saying anything about this person since I have no clue as to anything about them, just to say sometimes we are way to quick to judge....

hmmm... I'm not entirely convinced by some of the weights given there. I know almost nothing about Yorkies and they do look very small indeed and I could be completely wrong but just comparing some of those photos of held puppies to photos of my little boy being held, I'm not sure I believe the weights stated

The first puppy here will apparently be about 2 1/2 pounds. The age isn't given but he could be about 12 to 16 weeks I think which means if he's going to weigh that, then he should be significantly less than 2 pounds here. The second is 4 months apparently (although I'm not sure about that) and 1 1/2 pounds

Compare to my Badger (last two photos)... these were taken at 12 weeks when he weighed 2 pounds exactly

Let me know if you think I might miscalculated or have it completely wrong. I'd appreciate any correction

And I agree somewhat with Princessyorkies in terms of if you're capable of breeding them and there's a demand, then why not. But I seriously question anyone who wants to commit for 15 years to a dog that's nothing more than a handbag accessory. It's still a dog and it deserves to have a happy, fun and exciting life

i'm confused by the description for stud service: "We have stud service $1000 including over night chilled shipping..." does that mean she'll ship the stud for breeding and expect you to ship him back? is that common amongst breeders, to ship studs? i'm sorry to offend if it is, but it just seems so sad, to have a dog being shipped around like common baggage.

To me that read they ship sperm. That was the tackiest website

Those poor poor moms....I wish it was against the law to breed indiscrimately like that...I bet their puppies probably have lots of health issues...

That's just trying to go too small...

I can't imagine what the poor mommies go thru so those greedy people can charge those prices.

I just wanted to let you all know, I have 3 year old Toby who weighs 2.5 lbs. and he is not and will never be used for breeding. He is very healthy, but, a picky eater. I really have to watch him around the rest of the kids, who all weigh 4.5 to 5.5.lbs. I have had him to the Vets more than the rest of the kids..I did check out the web site, her babies are really cute..

I can explain about shipped sperm. I have to use it for breeding my Friesian Mare. Its called AI, Artificial Insemination, which is shipped in an airtight cylinder, either to your home or your Vet, you need a Vet who is knowledgeable in female reproduction. You need to keep tract of your females heat cycle, and when the time is correct to breed you get your sperm shipped overnight and its bring your female to the Vet and he then inserts the sperm into the female and hopefully it takes. Its said to be less stressful on the female. As for me its a matter of limited stallions in the USA, so thats why I use AI, on my mare.

None of this shocks me in the least. I made the comment on here one time about Yorkies costing so much and I was told that the breeders don't make that much off the pups after all of the care. I live in Virginia and this is for the most part the norm. The moms are USUALLY 5 pounds or over. The studs are always small. The pups around here are going from 900 up to 2000. Most are about 1000-1500 tho. They have no problem telling you that the smaller the pup the more they will cost. But lets be real. It is obvious that someone is buying these pups. Don't include me tho. I got Diesel for 700. I thought that was a bit high but when I saw his face I couldn't resist. Yeah I think she is putting her dogs in danger by breeding them so small. But it is common practice in some areas. Sad but true. I was told before I got to the ladies house that Diesel's mom and dad were both over 5 pounds. Of course after I got there and got hooked I then saw the mom and dad. Wow. The dad was 4.5 pounds and the mom prob down to 4.5 to 5 pounds. She only weighed 5.5 pounds while she was pregnant. So far he is doing just fine. He is 8 months and is 4.5 pounds I wouldn't want him any smaller.

Very sad to see this website. If a breeder is making a profit on selling pups they probably aren't a reptubual breeder. Breeders rarely make a profit on the sell of pups. I give this person a

Maybe its just me, but I would prefer my dog to be on the larger side. Nikko is 5 lbs. 7 ozs. and i still stress over him getting hurt or sick. I can't imagine how it must feel to have a baby so tiny and delicate that he/she is in constant danger of getting hurt. These people's prices are outrageous and putting greater value on a dog merely because its smaller is even more outrageous. But sadly, as long as there is a demand and market for tiny dogs, these terrible practices will continue to take place.
